Washington (CNN) - Casino mogul and major Republican donor Sheldon Adelson made an expected new contribution this week to the super PAC supporting Newt Gingrich, Winning Our Future, CNN has learned.
One source familiar with Adelson's donation described it as "sizeable." Two sources said the Nevada businessman made the contribution recently.

The sources would not speak on the record because Adelson wanted his contribution to be private.
CNN reported last week Adelson was expected to contribute as much as an additional $10 million to the super PAC. A great majority of the funding for Winning Our Future has come from Adelson and his extended family. Adelson, his wife and their extended family have donated $11 million to the organization.
The sources would not specify the exact amount of the donation.
A spokesman for Adelson could not be reached for comment.
A spokesman for Winning Our Future, Rick Tyler, refused to comment on whether Adelson made a new donation.
Thanks to the new influx of money, the organization will have far greater resources to help boost Gingrich in some of the primaries and caucuses voting on March 6th, Super Tuesday.
The organization is expected to disclose as early as Monday its plans for advertising in those states. Gingrich is campaigning hard in several of those contests in hopes to keeping his campaign alive.

In the new edition of Forbes Magazine, the multi-billionaire defended himself against critics of his contributions.
“Those people are either jealous or professional critics,” Adelson said, adding “They like to trash other people. It’s unfair that I’ve been treated unfair—but it doesn’t stop me. I might give $10 million or $100 million to Gingrich.”
Adelson’s worth is estimated at $25 billion.

I guess the nomination is just a giant game of roulette for this guy! He keeps putting money in and spinning that wheel hoping it comes up 'Gingrich'! Talk about playing long odds!
Who really gives a horse puck?
Good job Mr Adelson and thanks.
Sorry, BUY a President, not by.
He heard that Bill Maher is giving 1 million to Obama's super pac – So, he's going to match Maher + Raise him 9 more Million.
What a waste of money. Why not just throw it in the wind?
The worlds ugliest man is throwing more $ away!
Fools and their money supporeting a bigoted fool.
The more Adelson (and the Koch brothers) contribute, the stronger the case that the Citizens United ruling should be overturned, given that it has unquestionably led to corruption of the political process.
Our democracy has been and should always be decided by the majority of voters – not by a couple of billionaires looking to buy a presidency.
throwing good money after bad. gingrich doesn't have a chance. it takes more than money to win an election. these people just don't have a clue.
You think is good cause for Israel, do not love money, you have a ton money- give 100 millions for Mr. Newt to elect the US president, he can protect the Israel from WWW III. Give it now- Israel is first.all above.
What is that orange thing on his head he appears to be reaching for?
Bomb iran bomb iran
The 1% speak.
I guess this guy likes to waste his millions $$$. However, it could be worst; he could have donated his money to the US Treasury so the current president could blow it on his supporters/contributors' pet projects (boondoggles?!).
Please reconsider and donate your millions $$ to responsible/well managed charities.
He must be pretty serious about having a seat at the neocon table for the "we need to bomb Iran now!" talks.
I wonder what they expect in return for all this money, pay to play in republican crook party. Obama landslide in Nov.
What a great American. Putting his money where Gingrinch's fat, nonsensical mouth is. And all Newt had to do was sell out America and put Zioland first.
Nice to know traitors like Adelson and Gingrinch have their priorities straight.
Just more proof that money can't buy you class, dignity or a soul. But it sure can buy you a US President. And a few hundred Congressmen and dozens of Senators.
Good thing we have friends like Adelson, Madoff, Lieberman, Levin, Greenspan, Bernanke, Corzine and the list goes on and on...Anyone see a pattern here?
This is the same fellow that says the Supreme Courts decision is bad? He's going to take advantage of it, and donate maybe up to 100 million. Anyone see what's wrong with this picture? Thank You Supreme Court for stealing my vote once again!
