Washington (CNN) - When the topic turned to contraception and reproductive rights at CNN's debate in Arizona on Wednesday, Newt Gingrich went on the attack, saying that in 2008 "not once did anybody in the elite media ask why Barack Obama voted in favor of legalizing infanticide."
It's a striking claim, and he's not the only Republican presidential candidate making it. Speaking at the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition Forum last March, Rick Santorum said, "any child born prematurely, according to the president, in his own words, can be killed."
FULL STORY

If you take away the lies and misinformation that the republicans are saying, they would not have a candidate left.
Look at it this way Newt and Pope Santorum; the more abortions we have equals one less child we have to worry about being molested by a catholic priest.
So the jist of the longer story is that Santorum and Gingrich both made false claims about the President. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Plus, Gingrich lied about Obama not being asked the question by the "elite" media.
BTW, the GOP is the only place where being "elite" is always a bad thing. I guess it's the only way they can get you to support the dumb-sheets they put up for office. Elite seems to mean anyone with a good education or who uses facts and sound logic to support their views. Maybe they're right, why would we want that?
Who really cares what Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber say ABOUT ANYTHING?? Every time they open their mouths they spew lies..
Wow. I totally missed this. Just how low will they go.....?
The Fact is Newt, knows nothing about Facts!
How many want to guess that posters like Four and the Door, Fair is Fair, and Truth blah, blah will not click on the FULL STORY link, and post their usual bloviated GOP talking-points blather?
Have a nice day, folks.
GOP is "IDIOTIC". True.
Did they really need to go through a "fact check" on the rantings of the insanely bigoted? The very idea that such an outrageous claim is being fact checked lend it importance that it does not deserve.
Why do these candidates think they can flat out "Pants on Fire" lie about Obama and then ask us to respect them enough to give them the most trusted position in the free world. These lies are enough to disqualify them from working in a bank or insurance company but they think they can do this and expect people to trust them enough to be President. Bearing false witness is against their religion except when it involves the black man in the Whitehouse.
Wow. The GOP just can't stand that a bi-racial man is POTUS. What is wrong with these people?
Lie after lie
This is the reason no one couldn’t clinch the nomination
Fact is Obama did NOT vote for it. What damage would voting for have done? NONE. Obama always tries to have things BOTH ways and FAILS either way. This fool is the exact OPPOSITE of a leader. He's nothing but a coniving slithering politican.
This kind of talking points makes me sick to my stomach. And the media encourages these people!
nice try mr. dirty old man
@Truth
NO dog in this fight but are you kidding. Last time around Romney got out lasted by Mike Huckabee. There's a leader for you. When things get tough Quit. Ohh wait, that does seem to be the new mantra of the "NEW" republican party. Sounds like a certain Alaskan govenor. Some of your post I agree with completely Truth but when you start throwing stones it makes me wonder "EXACTLY" why you hate Obama so much.. The republican party was once a great party, these last 8 or so years I for the life of me can't figure out just what happened to such a strong party.

There was already a law in Illinois protecting "born alive" abortions. The new law had one significant difference. If the doctor made the "wrong" decision, then he could be charged with murder. The definition of "wrong" was unclear, leaving doctors with only one choice but to not perform abortions, not even to save the life of a mother.
Bingo! As predicted, Truth...posted the first vacuous post.
Why can't the headline read: "Republican Mislead Voters Again".
You need to be clearer at times like these.
As an Obama supporter I say it doesn't matter what Obama says or doesn't say – it is between God and myself what choices I make. Any person who votes for a president just so he can teach them how to worship, live their personal lives, make personal decisions for them and follow HIS every example go seek help immediately.
oh i forgot u to werid pinhead

So Obama supported the existing law that protected the doctor from prosecution when he killed the baby! INFANTICIDE. Thanks for backing up Newt's argument.
And isn't it funny how almost ALWAYS the baby dies and the mother lives in these situations. The only "protecting the life of the mother" that is done is to protect the ability of the mother to continue her life without having to worry about caring for her infant. Her life is almost NEVER threatened. The babies life is almost ALWAYS threatened, and indeed KILLED.
"He's nothing but a coniving slithering politican."
But enough about Flipper Rmoney.
What? Newt was wrong again? I'm shocked! Shocked, I tell you! Has no one any respect? How can a self-proclaimed "historian" be such a liar?
Is anything right-wing so ridiculous or dishonest "Truth" won't defend it? Fortunately, anybody can now see the election will be a landslide for President Obama – since the majority of Americans dislike a political platform based entirely on dishonesty, bigotry, hate and greed.
