Limbaugh front and center in pro-Santorum mailer

Detroit, Michigan (CNN) - Rush Limbaugh is splashed across the latest Michigan mail piece from “Red, White and Blue Fund,” a super PAC supporting Rick Santorum’s presidential bid.

“Rick Santorum is ‘the last conservative standing’,” the mailer blares, quoting Limbaugh from one of his radio broadcasts earlier this month.

“If you’re looking for a conservative who is the least corrupted, who has the least number of periods of wandering off the reservation, if you’re looking for a conservative who’s never sat down with Nancy Pelosi on the couch for any reason, you get Rick Santorum,” Limbaugh told his listeners on February 8. “And people know this.”

Read the mailer here and here.

Limbaugh has not endorsed a candidate in the GOP presidential race, but the influential talker has been critical of Mitt Romney, questioning Romney’s decision to call himself “severely conservative” and finding fault with the rollout of his tax reform plan last week.

The two-sided mailer, designed to fight back against Romney’s claims that Santorum is less conservative than he seems, also cites Santorum’s endorsements from conservative leaders James Dobson and Gary Bauer.

Glenn Beck, who once called Santorum “the next George Washington,” is also featured on the mailer, which was provided to CNN by a Michigan voter who received it.

Rush may have 10 million weekly listeners, but Mittens has a half a billion dollars from the Koch brothers, and that will buy him the republican 'friend of Wall Street nomination for president.'

Santorum is the last one standing? Quick, get him in protective custody so he was mount him in the Smithsonian! After the election of 2012 we will need new names for the several incarnations of conservative, and none will be 'the GOP.'

better a religious patriot than one serving only the god of money. The constitution had limits on religion and politics...it says nothing in regards to money and politics...

Beware of the real threat to America...a shift to an Oligarchy by Romney and his rich club. The voters can always decide what to do about Santorum...they won;t be able to once Romney gets the seeds of POWER to go with his COIN.

Our conservative representative in Florida, California resident Connie Mack has voted against seniors, veterans and workers his entire career, and they still vote for him. Conservatives have never been known to help people.

God I despise Rush Limbaugh! He's the poster child for the uncouth, unintellectual, uninspiring, pathetic, war-mongering right wing!

Limbaugh likes Santorum because he "never sat down with Nancy Pelosi". Yah, best we just stay on one side of the aisle and never get things done. And Glenn Beck calls Santorum "the next George Washington"?!?!

Are these guys serious? I guess they are radio performers and they are just trying to be entertaining. It is the only explanation for such ridiculous statements!

The women of America will not vote for Santorum after his stand on birth control. ED has never killed a man, but insurnace pays for it as Rush well knows. I wouldn't be here now if it wasn't for birth control. I had 3 daughters, but then 3 miscarrages, each worse than the previous. My doctor said I probably wouldn't survive another so I was put on birth control pills. That was 45 years ago. My priest said I could not take them and be a Catholic. I'm not longer a Catholic, but I'm alive.

The #1 reason not to support Santorum. If Limbaugh is for him, he isn't worth spit.

Hey Palladin, conservatives have never been known to be thoughtful intelligent people either. All you have to do to realize this is see the likes of Limbaugh and Beck, and the crop of candidates they have. Extremely scary for our country.

Freedom of speech notwithstanding, I have always thought Limbaugh and his ilk should be in prison for the garbage they sprew- nothing short of treason, in my opinion. However, living in the great country of America, they have the right to lie their pants off and idiots have the right to listen to them. So very sad.

Yes, and Limbaugh still think he's not endorsing anyone, just a little help to Santorum while picking on Romney. I don't know why people listen to Limbaugh.

I'm afraid "Rush" is not going to be the "hail Mary" for Santorum or the GOP, Santorum is going to have a tremendous credibility gap with half the electorate (Women) and Romney is going to have a big problem with the 99% crowd, he's just seemingly incapable of figuring out that whole soundbite politics thing as he is endlessly serving up ammunition for his opponents to pound him with. His only hope in the general election short of growing more brain cells would be to stay on script, hope for some kind of disaster, and go on a "safety net" budget for a few months to show empathy for the poor. Sorry Rush not even you can save this lineup.

Bain money is behind Rush's radio syndicator, so eventually you'll see a Rush-Rmoney smoochfest if the Robot gets the nomination.
