Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama told U.S. governors attending a luncheon Monday that they are cutting too much funding for education and need to make reforms while continuing to invest in the future of America's students.
While acknowledging the tough economic climate for state governments, Obama cited the need to prioritize the long-range significance of a strong education system.

The clueless Chider-in-Chief doesn't quite understand governors are REQUIRED to balance their budgets and make tough choices. Unlike the Spender-in-Chief they cannot run to China for endless TRILLIONS and spend until the state collapses, like so many blue states do. If this doesn't show Obama for the clueless financial buffoon he is, what does? I can't believe this joke inhabits the Whitehouse.
Speaking to those fascists GOBP governors is a waste of time Mr. President. You'd have a better chance of gettiing your message across to Bo. They'd prefer for kids to be home schooled as Ayatollah Santorum suggest. They're not interested in "Winning The Future."
Ron Paul is right on this one – whenever government throws money at something, whether it be healthcare, education, ANYTHING – the price goes up and the quality goes down.
You're wasting your time, Pres. Obama! The majority of those folk really don't care about anything but making you fail!! But in spite of them....I'm doing everything I can to see that you're-relected along with the majority of the voting electorate!!

Gov. Christie made some tough choices. He enacted a tax cut for the wealthy and corporations that created a deficit well over a billion dollars. He balanced his budget by cutting education and reneging on a property tax cut he campaigned on.
He sent his hand selected team to DC to apply for $400 million in education funds, and they goofed up their applications. During a public hearing the errors were pointed out, and they were given a chance to revise their forms. They declined the opportunity, insisting their facts and figures were correct. They were wrong.
Gov. Christie then cancelled the final NJ portion of a multi-state, high speed rail project. He claimed that it would go over budget, despite years of on budget construction already in the books. He tried to keep the $500 million to pay for his tax cuts and balance his budgets. Because it was an earmark, the Obama administration made him pay it back, in full.
So, Christie cut education, teachers, fire fighters, policmen, and public workers across the state. He blamed their pension costs, which NJ had failed to pay their share. Although, they used Stimulus money to make up for what the pensions lost on Wall Street from the 2008 crash on Wall Street.
No, Republicans governers are creating budget deficits with their tax cuts, and then blame public unions and education for the resulting deficits.

the repos are now trying to make education sound like a bad deal. What a bunch of wackos. They would love for all you repos to stay uneducated so they can continue to run this country . And after listening to the many comments written in these blogs it is working. The repos are writting in are absolutly as bonkers as the ones running. They will set this country back 60 years. Education yes ! The fact that the majority of States are deep in the Red makes no diffrence to the Liberal/Progressive. It's spend, spend, spend, like there is no tomorrow. Cutting State Budgets is part of Obama's Education. No wonder he won't release his grades from those High Prices schools. He probably flunked Sandbox. Live and learn.

I guess that applies to unfunded half a trillion dollar tax cuts for job creators, too. Right? The gebt and deficit go up, and we get less for our money.
I hope the Majority of Hispanics / Latinos / Independents / WOMEN / Votes for Obama, for re-election ! They are the ones who are going to decide this election.
