Washington (CNN) – The White House repeatedly maintains President Barack Obama isn’t monitoring the day-to-day rhetoric Republicans fire at him on the campaign trail. But the president all but directly responded to Rick Santorum’s latest jab.
Over the weekend, during which the former Pennsylvania senator called Obama a “snob” for suggesting all young Americans should to go to college, Santorum told supporters in Michigan, “Oh, I understand why he wants you to go to college. He wants to remake you in his image. I want to create jobs so people can remake their children into their image, not his.”

Santorum: pandering to low information voters since he started his political career.
I'm sure Obama will be setting up a four year degree as the next government entitlement plan. Why not? I'm sure the country can just borrow and tax some more.
Maybe Obama should paying a tad more attention to the nations economic and jobs problem, or maybe gas prices and Iran? And keep his nose out of peoples personal educational choices. We don't need the Nanny-in-Chief telling us what we already know.

Santorum is right! Too many Americans are getting educated and realizing what load of crap the Republican party has been dishing up over the years. It seems like the more educated people get, the more liberal they become. Learning too much can be a very real threat to our democracy. It is time to put an end to all this emphasis on etchucation.
So, Ricky... If you went to law school, etc., and you don't think just anyone should be able to go to college, (the implication is that just "special" people like you, should go) how do you get to give the other guy the label of "snob"? Seems like it applies more to you!

So now the guy who wants to take all Federal AND State funding from our public schools, doesn't think it's a good idea to encourage people to go to college. It seems that the reason is that the more educated people are, the less they tend to agree with Santorum and other ultra-Social Conservatives. I guess they believe that an ignorant populous is a pliable populous. Jefferson, Franklin, and the other founders must just be spinning in the graves with all the attacks on the separation of church and state and push away from science and knowledge. The founders were the very type of intellectual elites that the right seems to despise so much.
Doesn't Santorum realize that he is callling institutions like Notre Dame and Georgetown bastions of liberal brainwashing?
You gotta love the new GOP- anti-education, anti-science, pro fundmentalism. Sure, all evidence is that the more education one pocesses, the better tha chance they have to compete for jobs, and NOT suffer unemployment. The way the GOP hates the poor you'd think they would support education. Snobs indeed.

This proves what I have always thought about the GOP – they all want you all sick, ignorant and poor. Much easier to buffalo you that way. Not anymore GOP – you're done.
Imagine what the reaction would be any of the Republican candidates launched a ‘Whites for Romney’, ‘Whites for Santorum’ or ‘Whites for Gingrich’ campaign. There would be non-stop uproar. But Obama does the equivalent and gets a free pass.
The GOP wants the electorate dumb, hateful, unemployed, and broke.
Imagine if Ron Paul announced a national campaign called ‘Whites for Ron Paul’ – he’d be vilified as a racist. And yet Barack Obama has done the equivalent of precisely that with his launch of ‘African Americans for Obama’.
The program urges black Americans to volunteer their time by making calls, organizing events and going door to door in their neighborhoods encouraging other African Americans to vote for Obama. Not only is Obama playing the race card in an attempt to pressure black Americans into voting for him, he is also violating the separation between church and state. In the video promo for the campaign, Obama urges black people to pressure churches into supporting his administration by getting his message out via “the faith community”. He also calls on voters to become “congregation captains”.
In Spite of what the GOP constantly drums- it is they who are dividing the country. Imagine if Obama said "oh don't go to colleges – they just warp your minds." Good Grief no wonder Obama is in double digit leads against ALL gop contenders.
Folks, let us all work hard till we get our buddy, Obama in office. Pres.Obama for Middle Class. These Republican idiots are for loot and cheat....stashing money in Cayman Island, and religion zealotry....Obama2012.
