(CNN) – Touting his large following of young supporters, Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul on Thursday said he's the most likely GOP candidate to make a dent in a key voting bloc for President Barack Obama.
"I'm the one person that can take young people away from Obama," Paul said on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight."

Exactly Dr. Paul. We need those voters to win the november election. I can't see the GOP winning without Paul.
damn straight. he represents what the republican party should be. not a group of people pandering to the religious right or the big corporations, but a group of people with a hands off approach. less foreign intervention, less social intervention, less economic intervention.
Be mitt s lacky and see how fast he shoves you and your son into seamus old crate once you give him your votes/support. no way are you and/or rand going to sit with those 5 romney boys
the young naive ones perhaps who havent an inkling of policy or economics, maybe the ones who are looking for an excuse to legalize pot – definintely. Either case, hes not really a threat.
Well Dr. Paul you are more than welcome to them during the primary season but we are going to need them back in November. Okay?
Ron Paul 2012 or tyranny and the end of USA
You people need to wake up. Why vote for more of the same? THAT genius idea has done SO WELL
What's Kooky is the INSANITY behind SPENDING our way out of debt. That's the most idiotic thing ever.
RON PAUL or I told ya so
I do not understand why anyone including young people would support Congressman Paul. I try to listen to him when I can although I think unfairly the media does not give him due respect. In my opinion his supporter are more likely to be independent than Republican and I don't see his people jumping to any other candidate.
He also appeals to older voters who have been disillusioned by the "team sport" called politics.
It's true! If Ron Paul does not win the nomination, then I will be campaigning for and voting for Obama, and I have a lot of friends who feel the same way.
He can only take them away because they don't pay attention to all the finer details. Young people hear legalize pot and no war and they're on board. But then there's those racist, but profitable, letters and the fact that women and gays shouldn't have any rights. Tell the young people about those, too, and then lets see where he stands.
Take people, but not their will power, and votes. OK. Only goal of GOP clowns is to "defeat Obama". Nonsense. Obama2012/Hillary16.
We like Ron Paul ideas questions is can he deliver. Will GOP agree to withdraw all the troops? Will GOP Cut all the foreign aids? Will GOP legalize marijuana? Answers is no
So young people stay with Obama
He probably could, but I am not sure how many of them vote.
Ron Paul is funny. He can take young people from Obama and take them to where?? To Romney!!!! Think again Dr. Paul. These young people are more cleverer than you think they are. If they did not support Romney at the first place, they will never do so. They are fully aware that it is quite impossible you will become President.
Republican Response: "We're not about to compromise our statist principles just to win an election!"
Ron Paul attracts the naive and uninformed. His proposal to legalize pot is probably a winner with the same demographic. But, once young people get to know and understand *all* of his positions, moving past his talking points, doubt creeps in.
