Westerville, Ohio (CNN) - Rick Santorum furiously shot back at Barack Obama after the president said Republicans are distorting his record of support for Israel.
Accusing the White House of embracing a policy of "appeasement" toward Iran, an agenda that he said threatens the very existence of America's chief ally in the Middle East, Santorum said the president has "turned his back on the state of Israel."

"To blame Rick Santorum and other Republican candidates for our talk about what's going on in Iran, as this president continues weak policy after weak policy, out there with puffery about how tough he is going to be in making sure Iran doesn't get a nuclear weapon, and then does virtually nothing," Santorum said at a campaign event in Ohio.
He said Obama is "all talk and no action" on the matter of Iran and their nuclear aspirations.
Santorum made the comments in Westerville, a suburb of Columbus, during his final push through the state before Tuesday's Ohio primary.
Despite signs that the momentum heading into Election Day is with Mitt Romney, Santorum did little to dampen expectations here.
At the outset of his remarks, Santorum called Ohio, considered by many to be the biggest symbolic prize of the ten states that vote on Tuesday, the "key state" of the bunch.
"You are the epicenter," he told a modest crowd gathered at an American Legion hall. "While it may not be make or break, it's going to be a huge, huge deal."
Santorum reprised his main line of attack against Romney, saying his rival has tried to cover up his support for a health insurances mandate in Massachusetts.
"We need a president and nominee you can trust," he said.
Romney spokesman Ryan Williams called Santorum "desperate and flailing" and said Romney has consistently said the Massachusetts health care plan should be a model for health care reform at the state, not federal, level.

>he is a liar and an extremist
Yeah, but no more than Obama if you think about it.
the people currently running for the GOP are an embarrassment...
indus for Newt
Branch Davidians for Mitt
Sciencetologists for Rick
Buddahists for Ron
Satan Worshippers for Rush
All seems kind of silly, doesn't. Well, except that last one...
who the heck is running the GOP ? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh the zealots, i get it.......no wonder they will get there butts kicked by a socialist....Go RP, go gettem.....
Come on...all candidates are trying to show how bigger slave they are to Israel. Dosen't it ashame you as American? Wonder, how about not voting for any of them. One election cycle, no vote.
I am always surprised that these candidates, after calling the President every name in the book, fail to ever mention their own plan for Iran or whatever else it is they think needs fixing.
Remember, Rick Santorum is a former Senator for a reason, actually a whole lot of reasons and none of them good.
Should Israel bomb Iran, or Syria. If they strike and agreement with the Free Syria Movement, they could do both at the same time, by helping to get rid of Assad.

>he is a liar and an extremist
Yeah, but no more than Obama if you think about it.

True. Unless, you know, you actually DO think about it.
Rudy NYC – I think you were punked by the same idiot who posted under my name. My neighbor, a profiler, thinks that the punk is 5 feet tall, weighs 93 pounds, suffers from sever acne, spent most of his high school locked in a book locker, and was rejected by high school girls.
Wow and his response to Israel is what "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb".
"We need a president and nominee you can trust," he said."
No matter which one of these from the GOP said it, fact is we can not trust either one of them.
Fact is GOP America is sick of war and it is sick of the GOP.
Obama/Biden2012
Lies and nothing but lies, I'm curious: which allies did President Obama throw under the bus? Having lived in Europe during the previous occupant of 1600's regime, I can tell you our standing and credibility have begun to improve in the last 3 years. The previous occupant of 1600 got boo'd at the Pope's funeral and then slunk out of Italy with his tail between his legs without even stopping for a gelato. Former President Clinton OTOH was greeted as a hero, with Romans running out to greet him in the street where he posed with them for photos and signed autographs. Thank God President Obama is getting us back to that.
Santorum & the rest of the Republican field has turned its back on intelligence...
generals gathered in their masses ...
SAntorum is a moron. Every day he makes the google search result for "santorum" look a little more plausible. And, this is the guy you want to become president? ...of the United States of America?? LOL. Good one, republicans. Good one.
Wow poseur, you aren't missing a beat are you? First it was Dominican Mama, then T'sah and now Rudy? REALLY?! It must be awful to be as sad and pathetic as you.
Shame on them talking bad about a American .The repubs need to move israe
l
FedUp, if you actually kept up with events instead of getting your talking points from the reichwing spin machine without ever trying to research anything for yourself, you would have been much more aware. Just sayin'.
Today John McCain argued vociferously for an attack on Syria.
Well Hell, Syria and Iran are next door to one another so maybe we should do a Republican twofer and go after both.
Then they can go ahead and complain that the defense budge is to low and we should close down all the social programs and give all our money to defense..
this is the Republican Foreign and domestic policy wrapped together.
Ain't it neat
Someone ought to teach the
Republican candidates about DIPLOMACY–a word absent from their vocabulary
Think about it–has anyone of them even brought up diplomacy in ANY context
Keep this guy as far away from the nuke button as possible, even farther than the rest of the GOP clown car with exception of Paul. Ricky just hasn't a clue about real foreign policy. Ricky just likes to act like a cowboy, what branch of the service was he in again, oh yeah, he wasn't. Typical GOP Chicken Hawk, all of them except again for Paul. The typical GOP Chicken Hawks are flying all through the halls of the House and the Senate and of course running for President.
Rick Santorim claims the president is "all talk, no action" when it comes to the Iran/israel conflict. Let me guess, by action you mean starting another war in the middle east? Sounds like a great idea when the closest you or any of your boys will get to seeing a battlefield is your living room.
Sweet Christian values.
Who'd Obama blame today for his shortcomings?
So what is his solution to Iran......bomb them ofcourse and start a nuclear holocast, which Obama is trying to avoid on behalf of the American people. It's all about might with the GOP with no thought to the outcome. If any of these GOP candidates get elected we can kiss any kind of peace goodbye.Any president who tries to negotiate is seen as an appeaser, look at what happened to Kennedy in the 60's!
We do need a President and nominee we can trust. It just isn't you, Ricky.
