House to pass bipartisan bill aimed at start-ups

Washington (CNNMoney) - In a rare moment of bipartisanship, the House was expected to overwhelmingly pass a bill Thursday aimed at making it easier for small companies to grow and go public.

The bill would ease certain rules that the Securities and Exchange Commission enforces on small companies going through the process of becoming a publicly traded company. The Senate is working on a similar version of the bill, and President Obama has indicated he supports it.

Will we see the return of the Blunt-Rubio Amendment? Or worse?

WHAT?! Democrats helping evil greedy business in the USA??!! Madness I tell you! If they continue this insanity unemployment might DROP! Don't they knew the path to prosperity lies in taxing businesses until they say uncle?

I have every confidence in the world that Harry Reid will kill it in the Senate. It is all he knows how to do.

    Good news, thank you.
Also heard the Blunt Rubio is about to a demise. It keeps getting rejected for more "important" matters.
Ona note about that, Virginia Gov Bob McConnel passed the Vaginal ultrasound bill, forcing a patient to receive one in the case of determining the age of the fetus with regard to procedures. Forcing the patient is in the law.
Love how Blunt-Rubio cried fowl, oh no, the President can not force churches to do something. Here is McConnel doing just that, minus the church, enforcing patients.

Just as the President has obliterated the faux conntention that Democrats are punks, soft on military topics, weak in standing up terrorists, despots and the like; so too have the Democrats reveal the truth – - they are the true pro-business party. The GOP likes to perpetrate the fraud that it is the best steward of economic activity . . . WRONG. Republicans ARE at the forfront of promoting the exploitation of the masses by anyone that files a corporate tax return. That`s not business acumen; it is not the advancement of free enterprise.

The GOP controlled House has been brought to the compromise table kicking and screaming because the the Democrats has embarassed them into it. All that debt-ceiling bluster has gone bye bye because the electorate is about to throw the Republicans out. Throw the bums out in 2012 & 2014 and make America better.

    Answer the following questions.

First, what mechanism would you put in place to set fair market value? Second, how would you enforce any limitations you put on oil speculation on markets outside of our jurisdiction? And finally, what other commodities would you care to remove market speculation?

cali girl: Good observation. In regards to the Virginia Ultrasound law, I was under the impression that the Gov. opted for the less intrusive ultrasound, whatever that means. A forced ultrasound is a forced ultrasound is a false ultrasound last I checked. But you're right, once again IOKIYAR (It's okay if you're a Republican).

In regards to this Kodak moment of bi-partisanship, don't believe the hype or the motivation behind this. This is NOT about the Rethugs rethinking their Hell No stanc eof the past 3 1/2 years as much as realizing that with the presidential election just months away it is time to make the populace forget that they've been obstructing everything under the sun for the sake of obstruction and to thwart the President. Nothing more, nothing less behind this happy little union of the two parties.
Some Americans are stupid enough to fall for this belated effort at compromise and working together. Most of us, unfortunately for the GOTeatards are not.
    Obama 2012.

Ugh. We got worse. Republicans have revived that Keystone Pipeline as an amendment. Once again, the radical RINOs attach amendments that little or nothing to do with the original bill. The Obama administration is acting at the behest of the request from the Nebraska's Republican governer.

Force speculators to actually accept delivery on a certain percentage of the commodities on which they speculate.
