Obama's dilemma: More jobs, same unemployment rate

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) - The economy added 227,000 jobs in February, but the unemployment rate didn't change at all.

Woe is the White House - which would love to have the lowest rate possible heading into the general election.

    We love you President Obama.
We appreciate your efforts on our behalf.
We see who's BEEN working onour behalf, and who's betting the farm against us.
    YOU/WE will prevail!!

Well that is okay, it just mean more people are coming back into the job market, and people trust President Obama to handle the economy.

In Fort Myers, gasoline dropped 8 cents a gallon. Thanks President Obama. I was watching the Fox foreign owned media with a hint of Saudi, news tapes from 2008, when Hanoi Hannity and Bill' O said that you can't blame the president for gas prices at $4.15, but now these two are blaming our president.

We are heading in the right direction so it is only a "Dilemma" if you are one of those people that hates President Obama and nothing will change your mind. Maybe the unemployment rate would go down if Congressional Republican have not started their campaign of obstructionism.

As long as we keep adding jobs, we are moving away from the Bush/republican near depression.

But where were the job increases? Not construction, not tech, not manufacturing but all minimum wage jobs.
The truth is these numbers are not true. There are still 24 million unemployed or under employed (parttime) workers. The labor dept covers the truth by using fraudulent numbers.
Unemployment numbers to high, move another couple of million people to the uncounted list.
    A GOVERNMENT YOU CAN TRUST?

What a coincidence, 227,000 jobs created in February, is close to the same number that Mittens sent to China on a couple of his corporate raiding adventures.

Obama's REAL dlilemma is that he is a clueless socialist when it comes to the economy. It is painfully obvious he never took an economics or finance course in his life.

Almost EVERYTHING he and his merry band of leftists in the House and Senate have done has resulted in a slower, more prolonged recovery. Our economy has always recovered on its own over time. NEVER has the recovery been so slow and jerky as now. The difference? Obama's failed policies. In efforts to "fix" everything so nobody ever felt any pain, he has doomed the country to a never ending psuedo-recovery. Constant government interference in the marketplace and massive new laws like Obamacare have magnified the damage as well.

Get rid of Obama, get rid of Obamacare, and the recovery will take off like a rocket. These are the anchors holding back this country.

    From the Full Story link:
"The unemployed are individuals who have actively looked for work over the previous four weeks. Looking for work can mean having a job interview, sending out resumes, or even something as simple as calling friends or relatives in hopes of finding a job."

What about those people that have looking for a job longer than the previous four weeks?

Hey, it's a crock pot recovery. Nice and steady, low and slow. Once he gets the Republicans out of the way, he can turn up the heat on it.

The rate should be at 8.0% if not below it by the time the election rolls around.

I paid $3.81 per gallon here in Pinellas County last week. Today it was $3.75 at the same gas station, and a few others on my route home.

truth please elaborate, what policies exactly are you talking about. the affordable care act places 0 burden on employers, it cuts into insurance company profits and is a bit of a mandate ill admit that but please read the act and then clearly and concisely tell me how it slows economic recovery in any way, till then stop posting lies.

More like the "recovery" IS a crock Rudy!!

And once America gets OBAMA out of the way in November, the recover WILL heat up. Obama is a wet blanket socialist on the greatest capitalist system in the world.

From the story we all just read: Indeed, no president since Franklin D. Roosevelt has won re-election with an unemployment rate over 7.2%, if anecdotal evidence is to serve as a guide.

Still kinda makes you wonder why at the same time Obama says he wants to be re-elected he blocks the pipeline project. My guess is he really deep down inside doesn't want to be re-elected. Chicago is a much friendlier place than Washington DC.

    Romney 2012!

Get real people. the economy is in this bad shape because people trusted Obama who had no working experience to handle our economy. This man had never been a mayor, governor, city manager, business man. Obama's work resume consists of teaching in a University and neighborhood organizer. He had no experience with budgeting, taxes, tourism, employment, infrustructure, laws, insurance, catastropies, National Guard, businesses, city operations, etc... How then can we expect this person to have managed our country?

people have to remember one of the reasons unemployment rates are staying hi is the fact of industry becoming more and more automated. Its only going to get harder if we dont educate and adapt to an ever growing automated world.
For us to continue thinking that we have to cut spending in education is absolute economic suicide.
Spending on education should increase dramatically and that spending should be focused on books and brains rather than union tenur.
If we continue to devalue education as we have for two decades, 8.3% may end up being our norm.

I just wanted to answer – then I saw it was our friend "Truth and Nothing But the Truth" again – so no need to comment. We know he has a strange fantasy and likes fiction more than facts.
"Hammerer" does not seem to have a happy day either seeing 227 000 jobs added in February. Our poor GOP/TP friends – having a bad time!
President Obama 2012!!!! And while we are at it – we need a better Congress and a little change in the Senate too. Don’t forget what they did “for” the country during the last years!

How is it possible for their to be "more" jobs, with no change in the unemployment rate? I guess I did not learn that kind of math in school, it is so confusing, I'll stick with my calculus and differential equations.

Indeed, no Republican US president in history has ever failed to increase the annual deficit each year he was in office. That is without exception. On the other hand, Democrats have held the annual deficit steady or decreased it from one year to the next, including Pres. Obama.

So, we know where electing a Republican as POTUS will lead us.
