Trump: Candidates should quit for Romney

(CNN) – For their decision to remain in the 2012 presidential election, Mitt Romney supporter Donald Trump called the other Republican candidates "disgraceful."

The real estate mogul said it is time for Republicans to unite around the eventual nominee Romney to avoid aiding President Barack Obama's re-election.

"If they're good Republicans they're going to say, 'Look, we've got to beat Obama, lets get together,'" Trump said Monday on Fox News. "Somebody has to get together and end this thing because now it's getting tiresome and people are not liking it. The only one liking it is Obama."

Trump, who flirted with his own presidential bid earlier in the year, pushed back against recent Santorum wins.

"He's not winning … he's not going to win and it's just not going to happen," Trump said, after pointing to his 2006 Pennsylvania Senate loss. "At a certain point you have to get behind a person and you have to start going after Obama, not each other. And what Republicans are doing is disgraceful."

He acknowledged the energizing component of a primary battle but said the process should end now.

"Romney's going to win, and I think it's now time for us to focus on Obama, which we're not doing," Trump said.

The pot calling the kettle black. And to think these clowns were breaking their necks to get to NYC to kiss Trump's ring. Now he's calling them out. Is this really the kind of guy you want in your corner Republicans?

It is about time for the entire republican party to conceed the election to President Obama and retreat so they can figure out who they are and what they want. What is going on at present in the Republican party is not good for the moral of the nation, especially during difficult times.

Obama's reelection will be a cakewalk. The GOP has nobody and no ideas. They'll try their best to pledge their "allegiance to Israel" but the jewish vote will still go the Dems way. And bring up social issues like gay marriage, abortion, birth control to try n get the "catholic bloc" but the Catholics will still vote dem. The only people they can carry are the old white men and evangelical religious extremists and those people are on their way to extinction. Besides, does anyone really believe they would come out in droves to vote for a Mormon? Get real here people, get ready for another 4 years of angry tea party activists and angry Rush LImbaugh.

Wow! When a egotistical, bad comb-over idiot who was born on third base and thought he hit a triple and who has declared bankruptcy speaks ....

    ... no one should listen.

Just like the other four clowns(there used to be six but the two craziest were ousted) Trump fits right in with this bunch of misfits & only a misfit himself could understand their reasoning. The Republican party should be ashamed of what they've become.

What is good for the nation should be top priority. Once it becomes clear that candidates have other intention, it is time to withdraw from the campaign. The Republican party has reached that mark and should act accordingly.

It is actually the Supreme Court which has created this chaos in the body politic. It should not be legal to allow big money to direct the path and mode of elections. Shame on them!

Trump doesn't need to look as far as republican presidential hopefuls for something disgraceful. He only needs to look in the mirror!

What a mantra. "Beat Obama,. Beat Obama". That has been their ONLY goal the last 3 years. How pathetic and then they blame Obama when things don't get done. Congress has held up so many things only to hold up Obama. They have not had the interest of our country for so long. If Republicans were in office now, they would go to war with Iran in a heartbeat. They haven't even given Obama a chance to do what he needs to do. It's truly become a pathetic party.

Did Obama do his tour of duty in the service? Just curious. You don't make much sense when it comes to making sense! Ginrich behind Romney, Santorum go home.

Mr. Trump should return to his empire and leave the voting to those in the last primary states. Personally, I believe that Mr. Trump is not a player in presidential politics nor should he be. He is too interested in himself and not interested enough in people. It take very little time with him to see that.

I'm sure Trump's next move would be to ask Romney to step aside and let himself be the nominee. Only Trump can beat Obama, he would proclaim!

I don't generally agree with Trump. This time, he's right. Romney is the onlyi candidate that has a snowball's chance of beating Obama, and even he is going to have his work cut out for him. Santorum and Gingrich are just too far right for most Americans. Even many in the Republican party are quietly stepping away from Santorum and Gingrich. If either of those two gets the nod, expect 4 more years of Obama. It's that simple.

The comments here reflect why our country is in the situation it is in. It's a no brainer. You all over spend and want the Feds to pay for your debt. Obama would never be able to dig you out of this mess either. No one should have to pick up your debt, but you.
