$5.3 million raised in February sets organization record, DSCC says

(CNN) – The chief national organization raising funds for U.S. Senate races for Democrats announced Monday it raised $5.31 million in February, setting a February fundraising record.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee announced it ended the month with nearly $19 million cash on hand and is debt-free. The organization says this haul was larger than that of previous Februaries.

Democratic and Republican campaigns for the Senate are virtually even in fundraising this cycle, although Republican candidates have outspent Democrats, according to Federal Election Commission data.

DSCC fundraising pitches from February criticized Republicans for backing the “Blunt Amendment” - the Republican response to health care guidelines issued by the Obama administration – and comments from Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum.

How much money is it going to take to stop the republican war on women?

How much money will it take to make people realize that a contrived "war on women" is a democrat diversion to shift attention away from the real issues and Obama's dismal performance therein and is just a part of their grand plan of "Operation Change The Subject"?

There is too much money in the system. We need people to say what they would like to do and be willing to compromise to get the work of the people done.

@Fair is Fair - Really? The language that many of the candidate seem to focus on things that only affect women and negatively at that. I can't figure out how their religious ideology figures into their "government shouldn't be meddling in people's lives" perspective. I think that the Democrats have found something that points out problems in the Republican plans that are driven by social conservatives that fund them. It would be nice to have a different subject to talk about, but the Republicans put it out there.

You're a woman Fair is Fair and to see you actually post a comment like this in lieu of recent facts, statements, and events is quite disheartening but not surprising. It goes to prove that for you it is indeed Party over facts, and that your Party, at least as represented by those on this thread, is comprised primarily of the willfully ignorant who won't allow facts to stand in the way of their hate.
    Obama 2012. Seriously America.

What these record fund raising totals are really telling us is that the 1% is doing quite well.

Hey 'Fair is Fair' what would you like to change the subject to, JOBS?? Well, your boys in the congress are to busy trying to pass laws that don't affect job creation one bit and please don't talk about the pipeline from Canada. What other jobs bill has your party provided? NONE. The only thing your party would like to do is get rid of individual rights to their bodies, but hey, I 'REPUBES' don't want the government to tell me what to do when it comes to screwing up the economy. What a joke!! Now you guys want to drug test unemployment people. Well, I was unemployed for a couple of months back in 2010. You know what, I have paid more into unemployment benefits that what I have taken out. Given this, you and your pathetic party needs to just shut up. Why don't you ask anyone asking for government money to take a drug test. Oh by the way, your folks get free money while the unemployed are getting money back they put into the system. You know 'Unemployment Insurance' that comes out of our pay checks. So when your party talks about telling people what to do, take a look at yourselves when you get subsidies for taking US jobs over seas!!
