Crowley: Illinois feels like a must-win for Romney

(CNN) - Turns out the U.S. territories are very, very good to Mitt Romney. He romped in the commonwealth of Puerto Rico on Sunday, so much so that he took all 20 delegates. Oh, how Romney would love a romp in Illinois on Tuesday.

It wouldn't put him over the top, but it would put Romney solidly back on terra firma with at least a breeze at his back, maybe even enough of it to push him through what is likely to be another tough Southern primary, this one on Saturday in Louisiana, decidedly not Romney country.

US Virgin Islands went for Paul. A win for Santorum in Illinois might cause Romney's hair to combust lol. We all know Pres Obama will win Illinois in the fall.

Looks like it's Romney vs Obama in the Fall. Santorum's big mouth is his own enemy. It shows that Santorum is not that smart afterall.

This theme that CNN and other Obama backing media is getting old. It has always been if Romney does not win this state or that he is done. You also have Santorum beating the same drum. Santorum has said if Romney doesn't win Illinois he is done. What about Santorum when will the media start saying that his chances are all but gone. Santorum and Gingrich both need to go but the media has only gone after Romney because they have said the same thing about him in Michigan, Ohio and now after he takes Illinois they will continue. Romney wiped the floor with Santorum in Puerto Rico on Sunday, but no one in the media has written anything stating that Santorum is done. Santorum camp comes out with excuses and blames Romney and says Romney changed his mind. That is not a true statement. It was Santorum that did not understand the requirements for Puerto Rico to become a state if the people desired it. Santorum opened his mouth once again without thinking. The media needs to report on Santorum and look at his record. Santorum is the one that cannot be trusted. He is no better and I would say worse than Obama when it comes to the understanding on how the economy works and how to create jobs. That is why Santorum is talking about social issues it is because that is what he thinks he knows and he has proven that he is not the brightest bulb in the bunch. To sum it up Santorum is a 1 watt bulb not to bright and we already have one of those in the White House. Voters need to look at his record.

Democrats are Santorum's greatest friends right now. This is how intense the threat of Romney is to any hope Obama has for re-election. Romney will win. The Democrats do not want Obama to debate Mitt Romney. Obama would have very little ammunition and Romney has already shown he has plenty to use and he's not shy when it comes to closing the deal. Romney 2012!

come on, why is everything a 'must win'?

Look GOP will take Alabama and Mississippi no matter who the nom is.

Illinois: Well thats Obama's home state so i dont really think it matters who wins Illinois.

Hey, demwit. Did it ever occur to you that perhaps say 80% of Latinos voted for Obama and perhaps say 20% voted for Romney? In other words, Mitt Romney won the majority of that 20% demographic who continue to support Republicans.
