(CNN) – Mitt Romney may be in the driver's seat right now but there is still a chance he won't be able to amass the 1,144 delegates needed to win the Republican presidential nomination before the party convention in Tampa at the end of August.
If he comes up short, there could be a contested convention. That means the delegates actually would have to vote on the convention floor for the nominee.

This thing will not be decided until June at the earliest, and hopefully, we get to see a floor fight in August. Should make for good entertainment.
I expect them to change their own rules and make it up as they go along.
Ur thoughts r so wrong no!" Broker convention no way no how. Ur so wrong! It will be a sure win no matter how u count ur sheep. Santorum is hanging by a limb. Newt's limb broke a long time ago.he must have fill and bumped he little head!!!
Mittens will get enough delegates. Most republicans are coming out from behind their rocks to reluctantly support him. The question boils down to whether the teavangelicals will vote for a white guy who wants to take us back down the path of Bush/republican ruin, or the black guy that is getting out of the republican economic cratering. My guess is they want the white guy.

Still, even if it does go to a delegate vote at the convention they are better off than the Democrats who unfortunately are stuck with Obama. He can talk all he wants, but with 3 years of broken promises very few people listen anymore.
...................same old, same old, lies, bickering, bashing, scolding each other, all kind of nonsense. GOP lost ethics, morality. period.
What is funny is the crap the pubes are pulling behind closed doors to get Mittens more unearned delegates. Corruption, thy name is the big money from the Kochs and Rove.
Romney is the only way go to at this point. Also, he can and will do a abetter job than the current president in office.
wolf likes fighter not good for USA
Rmoney is the best elitist robot candidate money can buy. Too bad President Obama is the best Republican President since Ike.
They are going to pull every underhanded trick in the book to try and get their handpuppet Mittens elected. Rethugs sure are sore losers.
Right wingnuts say that Romney can do better than Obama, but Mittens track record gives us an entirely different. Things are getting better without the help of a single elected republican.

Except for what the data says. Look at unemployment rates before and after November 2010 elections. Unemployment peaked in November 2010 and then came down below 9% for the first time just after the Republican House took office. It has been coming down since then. Cutting government spending and extending the Bush Tax cuts did help businesses get confidence to hire. That's a large part of what was missing. Confidence in what was happening with the economy.
Romney, Santorum, Newt and Paul don’t even know it yet. But Palin and Bachmann are going to pull a double-trouble Elinor Burkett at the Republican Burning Crosses Hate Festival this summer.
These two Conservative Angels are going to take the nomination for President and Vice President that is rightfully theirs.
And they are going to save America from itself.
