Standoff in Congress threatens highway construction funding

Washington CNN) – With less than two weeks before federal money runs out for transportation projects across the country, a partisan showdown is developing between Senate Democrats and House Republicans over passing a new bill.

The standoff, based on sharply differing views about the overall expense of the bill and how to pay for it, jeopardizes thousands of road and bridge construction projects.

The GOP hates America. With their radical extremist fundamentalist views, they're no different than the Taliban. Sickening. Anyone that votes GOP is basically giving aid and comfort to enemies of the country.

This is bad news for the american worker again. As a company owner that does road construction and employs 87 people this will definately hurt them.I wish the gop would stop playing games with the middleclass and pass the dam bill.I am one of hundreds of companies waiting to start work repairing our roads and bridges. The men and women I employ work very hard for their money with long 12 hour days in the hot sun doing very hard labor most people couldnt handle so this isnt a handout these are hardworking honest people that do their jobs very well and dont deserve to be held hostage by the tea party once again.I know this means nothing to the gop but it means everything to the familys of the workers I employ.Get these gop bums outta office and put america first for a change.

And this is different from the partisan standoffs that almost caused our government to default on our loan payments, and not be able to borrow enough money to pay for Dubya's wars how?

And yet, they get all bent out of shape over the Keystone Pipeline, small jobs, project. They will protect their own
pockets by virtue of donations from oil companies, before they will protect the environment that maintains life.
They are not interested in jobs for all, only their own jobs, which, by the way, most would be fired from for
    lack of performance.

If obama is re-elected, he will have four more years to success his agenda: turn the country into a poor and weak third world one...so, americans, open your eyes, and defeat obama's re-election.

The Tea Party wants America to fail. This is like negotiating with a terrorist who wants to die. They don't care about jobs and they don't care about the recession. It's not about the deficit – or the Bush administration wouldn't have been so dedicated to "cut & spend economics". It's not complicated – they want a white man in the Oval Office and can't get past the fact that America voted for the best option. Looking at the Republican Clown Car it will be really easy to do the same thing again!

People who support the worthless party of big oil, wall street, and the upper .01% are brain dead. I only hope this will solidify disgust against the GOP and send the baggers, birthers, bigots, and Birchers to a resounding defeat in 2012.

Quick, throw in some more "wealthfare" (corporate welfare and/or tax cuts for the rich) and the GOBP will be falling all over itself to pass the thing.
