Did Cheney use US Healthcare? Where is the GOP outrage? Did the US Taxpayer pay for his transplant? Where is the TEAParty outrage? Have the US Catholic Bishops and Issa had a panel on this religious issue? Did the US Congress legislation mandate that an eye witness saw the donor die for a full 10 min? IF not where is the US Catholic Bishop outrage for murder?

A heart transplant can run in the millions of dollars from start to finish – especially if complications occur. Cheney has the money to pay for it but his coverage comes from the US Government – as it should based upon his tenure as Vice President. Still, we might use this example (with really rough numbers) to illustrate the fallacy in thinking regarding critics of our current healthcare plan. If Cheney's heart transplant cost a million dollars and if he paid $1000 per month for premiums, it would take about 83 years to pay the bill (forget interest charges – that's too complicated for the example)! At 71 years of age he would have needed to start paying those premiums about 12 years before he was born – to be even now. If he didn't start paying the premiums until he was out of college (after avoiding the draft) he'll need to live to the age of 107, providing he has no more health events to increase his "tab". It's easy to see why citizens need to pay into the insurance pool when they are young and likely healthier, because nobody could ever pay off a major health event if only the elderly pay premiums.

I hope this brings him many years to enjoy his retirement. He did excellent work during his 40 years of public service and so many Americans now and in the future sincerely appreciate that.

I had to get out of bed to post an honest comment. Dick Cheney was the driving force behind a trumped-up case for the Iraq War. He made millions himself from his "escrow" stock and his Haliburton buddies made billions. He was in bed with Enron when folks across America got hosed in that scam. He didn't even apologize to the guy he shot while hunting in Texas. In a just world he'd be in prison rather than getting the finest medical care in the world, while trying to block similar care from the working class. He's not an American hero who needs our best wishes. He' a draft-dodging Belt-Way Bandit who's milked our system and done nothing fot the people who go to work everyday. He gets to live longer? Who cares? Those 4500 dead Soldiers are still dead.

Many people are wondering if Cheney actually had a heart to replace. I think it is really strange that he was so high on the list. I would hope that he gets a greater understanding of what people go through or would not go through when they don't have the money to get this done.

Put Him In The Dock
Let's hope this keeps him alive long enough for him to attend a trial at the Hague for the war crimes he needs to be charged with. And have his little creature W right beside him.

I wish him a full recovery despite my differences with just about every decision he ever made. As a matter of principle, I would not wish death upon another American for political reasons. A long term in prison, a public repudiation, and a foul place in the history books, maybe, but I still wish him a full recovery.
