Santorum video: 'Obamaville' is a house of horrors

(CNN) – Crows perch on spindly trees. Barren streets and empty swing sets. An antiquated wall clock. A playground carousel spinning slowly with an eerie screech.

The visuals conjure a horror film or the old TV series, "The Twilight Zone."

But the collection of spine-tingling scenes pervades Rick Santorum's new web video trailer about life under the Obama administration.

It's called "Welcome to Obamaville."

The brief web video is a taste of an upcoming eight-episode series that showcases what the campaign says is Obama's incompetence and the harsh reality of life in America during his watch.

"Small businesses are struggling and families are worried about their jobs and their future," the narrator says. "The wait to see a doctor is ever increasing. Gas prices through the roof, and their freedom of religion under attack."

In one image, a silhouetted figure holding a gas pump nozzle to his head accompanies the warning of rising gas prices.

At one point, as the ghostly music begins to build and the piece nears conclusion, the narrator warns against "a sworn American enemy" and a television flickers between images of Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Obama.

"Welcome to a place where one president's failed policies really hit home. Welcome to Obamaville, more than a town, a cautionary tale, coming soon to ricksantorum.com," the narrator said.

John Brabender, a senior advisor to Santorum, told CNN the campaign has no plans to purchase airtime for the video.

"It will illustrate how radically life will change for the average American when we have out of control gas prices, the full impact of Obamacare, and the daily nightmare of a nuclear armed Iran," he said.

Newt runs on racism and lies, Romney runs on lies, and Santorum runs on racism, lies, and fear-mongering. Why would anyone ever vote Republican, unless they just hate America so much?

Very sad indeed, when a political party calls the Commander and Chief of the United States of America a sworn enemy.

This is a treasonous statement, coming from the Republican party it simply means they do not have the right to lead this country. Very sad indeed.

I think these ads are getting more ridiculous by the minute. The Santorum campaign, one that I respected in the beginning is now beginning to go off its rocker. I don't like any of the Republican candidates and I think the President is the only one who is worth voting for.

The boogie man tactic.... Whats your plan Rick! You candidates have had a full year to put foward a plan. Instead you create advertising of mass destruction. Sickning is what it is. Grow a pair and come up with a plan. Then debates the merits of the plan. Cowards the whole lot of you. Your a disgrace to your party and the votimg public.

What would be even scarier would be Santorumville. All women would have to quit their jobs and stay home and be barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen. Everyone would be forced to go to church. University would be banned because its just for snobs. We'd be in a war with Iran. Need I go on?

Lord help us! Sanitorium is really grasping at straws! The President is responsible for gas prices? Funny how Fox in 2008 came right out and said that the President is decidedly NOT in a position to affect them (as everyone with a working brain knows). And the wait at a doctor's office? The aging population, medical advances and long life-expectancies have nothing to do with that, right?

All this nonsense aside, why would ANYONE vote for someone whose primary appeal is to your fears and paranoia, actively encouraging you to believe the most ridiculous rubbish ever?

Fits Sanctorum perfectly since he seems to live in the "zone".

Santorum needs to manage his campaign money better before going after President Obama because Mitt Romney has more money than Santorum and President Obama has more money than Mitt Romney. More proof Santorum is totally unqualified.

And what, exactly, does Sanitorium have to offer us? All the GOP economic, military and foreign policies that are PROVEN FAILURES, along with a theocratic state where religious police keep the masses in line.

All Dems, Independents and thinking Republicans, be sure to VOTE in November. As Ricky likes to say, the choice can't be clearer: Move forward with President Obama or kiss your future goodbye.

I just watched the ad and CNN forgot to mention that the only people of color in it are President Obama, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and various random Muslims.

Everyone else is Caucasian, including the baby lying in the crib dressed in red footie pajamas, the image of which is flashed a couple time.s

This is so blatantly racist, and so unworthy of seeking the Office of the President.

Sanitorium and his followers should be ashamed of themselves!

All Dems, Independents and thinking Republicans: Get out and vote to re-elect President Obama and a straight progressive ticket! Just remember: Sanitorium can exist in our world, but we can't exist in his.

And trust me, he doesn't want us to exist ....
