Santorum: Where are Romney and Obama?

(CNN) – Mitt Romney should be in Washington, D.C. while the Supreme Court hears a challenge to the national health care law, Rick Santorum said Monday.

"Mitt Romney's 3,000 miles away. He should be here," the Republican presidential candidate said in an interview set to air on CNN's "The Situation Room." "He doesn't want to talk about the issue because he can't on substance disagree with the policies of this administration."

He issued a similar charge to President Barack Obama.

"He's 7,000 miles away," Santorum said of the president, who is in South Korea ahead of the Nuclear Security Summit. "He doesn't want anything to do with 'Obamacare' ... He's running away from it."

Santorum appeared in front of the Supreme Court on the first day of hearings and continued to attack the federal law and its connection to Romney.

The former Pennsylvania senator also bushed aside suggestions from the Romney campaign that a recent kerfuffle with a reporter proves he's unsuited to be president.

"After I won Louisiana by 23 points?" Santorum told CNN's Wolf Blitzer. "I understand the game but this is, you talk about desperate and pathetic, Mitt Romney can't run on his record."

–Watch the full interview with Santorum and conversations with Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich on CNN's "The Situation Room" Monday at 4 p.m. ET. Ron Paul will appear Monday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" at 9 p.m. ET.

Watch The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer weekdays at 4pm to 6pm ET and Saturdays at 6pm ET. For the latest from The Situation Room click here.

Ever wonder why CNN didn't give this much coverage to Hillary when she was running against Obama?

Is this guy (Santorum) as dumb as he appears? He doesn't understand the responsibllities of POTUS, but he wants us to give him the job? The justices and the lawyers can do what they need to do with the President taking care of the important business of our nation.

    @Howard – Seriously???

I believe Obama was consulting with the Russians to find out how well they liked THEIR government run healthcare system back in the good old days of communism. Yes, the state knew better how to run things instead of the dumb people. Of course, the commies in charge always got the best care and the people, well they got to chose where to stand in line to keep treatment fit for a dog. Welcome to Obamacare.

GonzoinHouston- Really? "Politically astute" – Rick Santorum? Have you listened to him? He wants this ovuntry back in the middle ages. He is translating our laws to suit his agenda and most of the time lies about other candidates positions. This article is a prime example of what kind of man he is. and if you haven't watched the teaser ad the is going around, you haven't seen just how low this man is. No where in the 2008 campaign did you hear a Democrat put down the sitting president the way that this man has. He is disgusting!

The President has a job to do, that is why he is 7,000 miles away. Santorum is currently unemployed because the people of Pennsyvania defeated him by 20%, so he has nothing else to do except go to the step of the Supreme Court. Does he think the Supreme Court can be swayed by political ranings like his Tea Bagger followers? Wow, he's starting to resemble Sarah or the digbat from Maryland...both unemployed like Santorum and can't relate to someone who has to balance a hundred things a day, to run this country, wow.

Truth and Nothing But the Truth......I guess there are a bunch of "commies" running our country, since over 50% of Congress voted FOR the Affordable Health Care Act. While our country is floundering in debt and the medical industry is/was soaking the American people for all it's worth, Obama ran 4 years ago on the promise to do something about it. The GOP had every chance to put up an alternative but instead a bunch of them signed the Bill that Obama put into Law. Now, they are all backtracking and siding with the GOP. Typical from the Party of No. I wish people would wake up. The rich are using the social issues and Obamacare to fool everyone into putting thier cronies into office to make it even more profits and pay less taxes. It's about the rich taking and taking and taking and disguising it with racial overtones and religion.

What a moron this guy is. He is the joke that keeps on giving. . . But, Rick, please listen up. WE DON'T LIKE YOU AND WE DO NOT WANT YOU IN THE WHITEHOUSE, unless it is as an invited GUEST! You and your family will never reside there. Good luck with your delusion. I think you've even got Gingrich beat in the delusion arena, and that is quite a feat! At least Gingrich is now admitting he is only staying in to try and trip everyone else up. Why are you staying in? You're not even comical, just sad and stupid!

If he is out with them on the campaign trail....how are they learning/what are they learning. Scary to imagine their analytical skills. Why does he have a bunch of degrees and yet his kids are not given a chance to compete in the intellectual/academic world...scary indeed!

Truth – please change your name. Everything you spout is anything but the Truth!! You are obviously a Republican because you talk out of both sides of your mouth. Calling yourself "Truth and Nothing But the Truth" and all you do is distory and spread lies! How about changing to "The Truth, as I Prefer to Believe" or "Truth as Believed by the Republican Candidates". Either one would be better.

So what exactly does Rick Santorum want credit for? Being the closest person in proximity to a court case none of them have any impact on?

Santorum: Camping outside a courthouse in Washington D.C., twiddling his thumbs, and accomplishing nothing.
Obama: Working to keep the planet safe from nuclear annihilation.

How come Santorum didn't criticize Newt Gingrich for not being in DC? Why just Romney and Obama?

  14. GROVER NORQUIST IS A ENEMY OF THE STATE

The President is overseas feeding you republicans some political bait which you guys bit on. The President has once again played you for fools. As far as Willard being on the steps of the SCOTUS, you know he doesn't have the backbone to stand up against a policy which he stands behind.

Santorum is running scared! Who in their right mind would vote for such a negative, 'attack-dog and unpresidential acting and thinking individual? He is a sad commentary on good-hearted, honorable, Christian people. Would a 'Christian' even think of speaking or acting the way he does?

@Truth, what country are you from? You do realize that Medicare and Medicaid are government run don't you. I suggest you do some reading and think before you post. Your posts are nothing but personal attacks and lack substance. Yes we have freedom of speech, but your posts don't make any sense. I am not attacking you personally but giving you advice from someone that has lived during 12 Presidents.

President Obama has more to do than hang around D.C. The Supreme Court's gonna do what they're gonna do. The only reason for a candidate to be there is for campaign publicity. Obama has much more important things to do.

Aw, isn't little Ricky cute! He thinks all of those ACA supporters and protestors came to hear his sermon.
He thinks that President Obama should be there, holding his hand, instead of traipsing around the world, talking to other world leaders about that silly little nuclear disarmament thingy.
If and when he gets his wish to debate President Obama, he will discover how far out of his league he is.

Rick, thy are out taking care of business instead of grandstanding before your own choir. You have no part in the decision, so your extremist message would better be used on moderate Republicans, with whom you have little chance.

Little Ricky Sanctimonious, whining like a baby. Grow up, Ricky. Get a real job, because you're never going to get the fantasy one you've been applying for. Or VP, either. You'll be lucky to get anything. Not much call for professional cry-babies.
