Palin congratulates Santorum over 'bulls-' remark

(CNN) – Sarah Palin heaped praise on Rick Santorum after the Republican presidential candidate accused a reporter of "bulls-" questioning over the weekend.

The former 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said the exchange showed strength.

"It was good and it was strong and it was about time because he's saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting conservative's words," Palin said on Fox News late Monday night. "I was like welcome to my world Rick. And good on ya, don't retreat."

Santorum engaged in a heated exchange with The New York Times' Jeff Zeleny Sunday night when the reporter asked Santorum about his earlier comment that Romney was "the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama," in reference to health care. An angry Santorum said "quit distorting my words … It's bulls-."

The former Pennsylvania senator later told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on CNN's "The Situation Room," "If you're a conservative and you haven't taken on a New York Times reporter you're not worth your salt as far as I'm concerned."

Palin echoed the sentiments, calling Zeleny a "liberal leftist in the tank for Obama."

"I was glad that he called out this reporter," Palin said. "He and the other candidates, all of them, they need to do more of this because believe me the American people are tired of what the leftist media continues to do to conservatives."

When asked if a nominee Santorum could be a reality, the former Alaska governor said "anything is possible."

Typical Caribou Barby comment. Go back to Alaska, no one wants your opinion on anything.

Santorum has enough issues without this nutcase backing him up. Remember the Katie Couric "gotcha" interview?

I believe that candidate Santorum has the same chance of being president as I do. He is not n the same class as President Obama. Judge John R. Stewart

This idiot only has an opinion or comment when it is something negative, worthless or divisive. She is such as shallow person and I thank God John McCain did not win because of her on the ticket. Sarah Palin is actually a disgrace on many levels, she is the reason you must teach your children to STAY IN SCHOOL!

Don't you just hate how that liberal media repeats things conservatives say? How dare they ask questions using the exact same words? Never question a conservative!! They are all above reproach and have jeebus on their side!

BTW...when will Palin shut up and go away? Someone needs to explain what good she ever did and why she was ever relevant.

Most adults teach their children that foul language is a sign of weak language skills. I guess Sarah never heard that one.

I am one of those folks that you say are the "American people" (You love to speak for us a a whole), and madam, you are a complete twit and do not speak for me one iota!! You are a self-absorbed narcissistic individual who constantly has to be in the public eye. What you offer this country are narrow-minded ideas and rhetoric. You are ignorant, backwards, and truly need professional assistance. Spend less time telling us what we should think or do and spend what is obvious more needed time on your very challenged family. There, I think I have vented enough about this Alaska buffoon/fool! Alaska, please take her back and make sure she stays up there where is belongs!

All the reported did in this case was repeat in the form of a question EXACTLY what Rick Santorum had just said on stage minutes earlier. How is this "the liberal media twisting conservative's words" – Sarah Palin.???
It's more accurate to say that Santorum cannot even stand behind his own words. If he could the simple answer would have been "yes, Romney is the worst republican to run against Obama". They love to attack the "liberal media" whenever they are uncomfortable repeating their true beliefs.. Don't buy the BS...OBAMA 2012

I give Santorum credit for not quitting halfway through his first term. That's more toughness than Palin ever showed.

If it's anti-Romney, Palin will support it. Santorum is anti-Romney therefore Palin supports him.

Usually these gaffes are just silly distractions that each party jumps all over – which, while maybe being a waste of time, I can at least understand.. "the other guy screwed up, I'm going to take advantage of it". Logical.

This one makes no sense. Didn't the NYT guy just repeat verbatim what Santorum said? Not similar to Santorum's words, but the exact same words in the exact same order in the exact same context? It's like Santorum's campaign manager said "ok, we've been out of the headlines for a few days, I need you to go out there and yell at somebody." Politics just sucks in this country. I know they're all liars, but I've never seen an example this blatant. Just depressing.

@Kahuna – you are so right! The thing is, the Republicans formed a strategy many years ago and it was a brilliant one: (1) blame the Dermocrats for the evil that Republicans do (2) rail against the "liberal media" while the Republican-supporting media propagandists do exactly what they are accusing the non-Republican media of doing (3) always minimize Republican own screw ups, while magnifying those of the other side (4) always feign moral outrage at anything and everything that Democrats are doing and saying, while you (Republicans) violate every moral rule by lying and twisting things (4) Lie to the public at every opportunity because the public is not paying attention – they are too busy just trying to make ends meet to pay full attention to what is going on, and too busy to question what the Republican right wing extremist media is doing – they will accept anything as truth if you keep repeating it (That is actually a core tenet of marketing, by the way!)
