(CNN) – Sarah Palin heaped praise on Rick Santorum after the Republican presidential candidate accused a reporter of "bulls-" questioning over the weekend.
The former 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said the exchange showed strength.

"It was good and it was strong and it was about time because he's saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting conservative's words," Palin said on Fox News late Monday night. "I was like welcome to my world Rick. And good on ya, don't retreat."
Santorum engaged in a heated exchange with The New York Times' Jeff Zeleny Sunday night when the reporter asked Santorum about his earlier comment that Romney was "the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama," in reference to health care. An angry Santorum said "quit distorting my words … It's bulls-."
The former Pennsylvania senator later told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on CNN's "The Situation Room," "If you're a conservative and you haven't taken on a New York Times reporter you're not worth your salt as far as I'm concerned."
Palin echoed the sentiments, calling Zeleny a "liberal leftist in the tank for Obama."
"I was glad that he called out this reporter," Palin said. "He and the other candidates, all of them, they need to do more of this because believe me the American people are tired of what the leftist media continues to do to conservatives."
When asked if a nominee Santorum could be a reality, the former Alaska governor said "anything is possible."

It's more accurate to say that Santorum cannot even stand behind his own words. If he could the simple answer would have been "yes, Romney is the worst republican to run against Obama". I give Santorum credit for not quitting halfway through his first term. That's more toughness than Palin ever showed.

Usually these gaffes are just silly distractions that each party jumps all over – which, while maybe being a waste of time, I can at least understand.. "the other guy screwed up, I'm going to take advantage of it". Logical.
This one makes no sense. Didn't the NYT guy just repeat verbatim what Santorum said? Not similar to Santorum's words, but the exact same words in the exact same order in the exact same context? It's like Santorum's campaign manager said "ok, we've been out of the headlines for a few days, I need you to go out there and yell at somebody." Politics just sucks in this country. I know they're all liars, but I've never seen an example this blatant. Just depressing.

The thing is, the Republicans formed a strategy many years ago and it was a brilliant one: (1) blame the Dermocrats for the evil that Republicans do (2) rail against the "liberal media" while the Republican-supporting media propagandists do exactly what they are accusing the non-Republican media of doing (3) always minimize Republican own screw ups, while magnifying those of the other side (4) always feign moral outrage at anything and everything that Democrats are doing and saying, while you (Republicans) violate every moral rule by lying and twisting things (4) Lie to the public at every opportunity because the public is not paying attention – they are too busy just trying to make ends meet to pay full attention to what is going on, and too busy to question what the Republican right wing extremist media is doing – they will accept anything as truth if you keep repeating it (That is actually a core tenet of marketing, by the way!)
