Palin congratulates Santorum over 'bulls-' remark

(CNN) – Sarah Palin heaped praise on Rick Santorum after the Republican presidential candidate accused a reporter of "bulls-" questioning over the weekend.

The former 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said the exchange showed strength.

"It was good and it was strong and it was about time because he's saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting conservative's words," Palin said on Fox News late Monday night. "I was like welcome to my world Rick. And good on ya, don't retreat."

Santorum engaged in a heated exchange with The New York Times' Jeff Zeleny Sunday night when the reporter asked Santorum about his earlier comment that Romney was "the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama," in reference to health care. An angry Santorum said "quit distorting my words … It's bulls-."

The former Pennsylvania senator later told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on CNN's "The Situation Room," "If you're a conservative and you haven't taken on a New York Times reporter you're not worth your salt as far as I'm concerned."

Palin echoed the sentiments, calling Zeleny a "liberal leftist in the tank for Obama."

"I was glad that he called out this reporter," Palin said. "He and the other candidates, all of them, they need to do more of this because believe me the American people are tired of what the leftist media continues to do to conservatives."

When asked if a nominee Santorum could be a reality, the former Alaska governor said "anything is possible."

Truly a disgrace when someone not only condones civil discourse, but praises it. Then again, this is the GOP of the 21st century. If they get a question they don't like from the press, its always the "liberal media" out to get them.

It was refreshing to see Santorum stand up to the biased radical left wing media that resort to report lies and made up stories to to suport their personal causes and liberal agendas.

The lies are so blatant that it would be laughable if it didn't sway so many poorly informed Americans.

The left control of the media is the Obama administrations best weapon.

The biggest hypocracy is Obama accepting the million dollar donation from his HBO buddy Bill, while condeming Rush Limbaugh.

She's looking for another bid to be VP!!!!! Fat chance! They all saw what happened to McCain. Now she's trying to show how much she knows by reading a script put in front of her. She's doing the dirty work for the GOP!

Why does the media give this bimbo any coverage? She is irrelevant. She is a dumbstick. She is a slimey opportunist only looking to help herself. Just please, do the country a favor, and let her fade away.

She's only going by what Rick said because she didn't (is unable to) read the transcript showing he was quoted verbatim. Sarah: That means word-for-word.

The same Republican party that cursed us with this woman who just won't go away, now give us Rick Santorum. I love my country, but I also love a good laugh and I'd just love to see a Santorum/Palin ticket. Can you imagine how entertaining that would be?

This is the one thing I truly liked about Palin. I don't go so far as to call it the Liberal media. I call it ALL media. The media is a circus now. Journalists have ruined good reporting and when you involve politics, it just gets worse. Journalists think they can do anything in the name of free speech regardless of how intrusive it is into peoples' lives. It's gotten out of hand and there should be something done about it.

Gross. She needs to be not seen at all....least of all doing that. Nightmares. She's the poster lady for young mothers to teach their daughters that no matter how physicailly pretty some might think you are, it's all completely ruined if you have the personality of a door jam or are a complete raving, angry, delusional lunatic.

It is ridiculous of Governor Palin to compliment Mr. Santorum for losing his cool and cursing. At a MINIMUM, it is certainly not presidential of him to do so and, beyond that, it raises legitimate questions about how he handles stress. Yes, he is tired. Yes, this is a brutal campaign that sucks the decency out of good people; nonetheless, being POTUS is far more stressful than bear bating questions from the NYT. Mr. Santorum's outburst has made it clear that he is not yet ready to be the President of this great nation.

So if you don't want to answer a question ...its just biased left wing "gotcha" journalists.

Why should a guy running to be president ever be asked about things he says. What a strange world the GOP lives in.

That's funny...I just watched the video of him saying exactly this, and then the next article I read is about him accusing the liberal media of distorting his words. It was a direct and accurate quote. Sounds to me like he doesn't like the sound of his own words.

Why are so many people commenting here about the media and how out of hand it has become? As stated earlier by LetsBeCivil, the question was not intrusive it was merely a valid question about exactly what Santorum had said earilier. Dear Mr Santorum and Mrs Palin – This is not twisting words; this is quoting words back to the person who spoke those words

I guess Faux Fox entertainment has never twisted anyone's words around huh, Sarah? I bet you any amount of money, if President Obama would have used that type of language, "conservative media" would have jumped all over him. When you live in a bubble known as Fox and Friends world, I'd imagine any question like "what type of magazines do you read" would seem like a "gotcha" question.

Palin...now there's an empty wind sock. What idiot chose her to be VP candidate? Oh yea, the same guy who said the economy was strong a couple of days the bottom fell out. Certainly not the "best and brightest" on either count.

Boy, that is all Rick needs is a kiss of support from the PALIN. Kiss his butt good bye. To attack the press is a PALIN trick it covers the fact they can not answer the questions.
