Palin congratulates Santorum over 'bulls-' remark

(CNN) – Sarah Palin heaped praise on Rick Santorum after the Republican presidential candidate accused a reporter of "bulls-" questioning over the weekend.

The former 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate said the exchange showed strength.

"It was good and it was strong and it was about time because he's saying enough is enough of the liberal media twisting conservative's words," Palin said on Fox News late Monday night. "I was like welcome to my world Rick. And good on ya, don't retreat."

Santorum engaged in a heated exchange with The New York Times' Jeff Zeleny Sunday night when the reporter asked Santorum about his earlier comment that Romney was "the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama," in reference to health care. An angry Santorum said "quit distorting my words … It's bulls-."

The former Pennsylvania senator later told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on CNN's "The Situation Room," "If you're a conservative and you haven't taken on a New York Times reporter you're not worth your salt as far as I'm concerned."

Palin echoed the sentiments, calling Zeleny a "liberal leftist in the tank for Obama."

"I was glad that he called out this reporter," Palin said. "He and the other candidates, all of them, they need to do more of this because believe me the American people are tired of what the leftist media continues to do to conservatives."

When asked if a nominee Santorum could be a reality, the former Alaska governor said "anything is possible."

Can't wait for Palin, gingrich, sheila Jackson Lee, Pelosi, and others to disappear from our conscience. They contribute nothing to our Democracy. They have just made riches off of our democracy.

The reporter was "called out" for quoting Santorum verbatim. In the frothy wonder's book, and Palin's, handing their own words back to them exactly as said is a sneaky, nasty trick.

People will sometimes ask me why after 4 years I continue to disparage Sarah Palin. Well, I guess it's because she's such a idiot. A one woman clown car.

Listen Palin, is not a great thinker, but she know how to keep her name in the media. If I was Palin agent, I would suggest for her to go back to school and learn basic American and foreign history. Then participate in various small debates. Then I would push her towards getting her on radio show. I would also suggest she create a think tank. I would stress to Palin that her two daughters finish HS and hopefully go on to college.

How dare the media challenge a presidential candidate! I guess Sarah Palin knows how frustrating it is to be quoted verbatim....

Rick Santorum showed the world who he really is by using foul language toward a reporter: Not that there is anything wrong with it but it shows his hypocrisy. After portraying himself as a sanctimonious, sinless, Republican conservative Puritan during his campaign, he talks to a reporter in such a vulgar manner. No wonder he is losing the repugnican nomination. And Sarah Palin, the Harpy Woman condones such a vulgar language because she is a republican equally vulgar as Santorum.

To R.I.P. Damon – Actually, I'm looking forward more to reading comments from the apologists for Mrs. Palin and Mr. Santorum. It is always interesting to see how their believers accuse the "liberal" media of distorting what these two really do say. Both funny and sad at the same time.

Don't quote the candidates for fear of being called out on it. Wow, and SP is against the quoting of candidates, what a shocker. This is fun to watch though, the greedy old party hanging on to fewer and fewer middle class believers. The give all the money to the rich and let them decide what you get trick is running out of steam and it's about time. Please remember, 2 wars plus tax cuts equals huge deficit. Tax cuts do not result in job creation, increases do. You are currently paying for the uninsured through your premiums and taxes under, "Obamacare" people are held responsible for their own health care not you and I.

Well, now that the right wing's leading brainiac has weighed in on the subject, that should settle it once and for all.

Once candidates start getting praised for cursing, we sink to a new low. To get praise from Palin for it is proof! Swearing doesn't prove strength. It proves your vocabulary is too small to find a better word. Why do we continue to print what Palin says? She's a self appointed critic who thinks she know everything about everything, when she really knows nothing about anything.

Except for the fact that THEY DIDN'T TWIST HIS WORDS!!!!

He is on video saying that Romney is the worst Republican in the country to go against Obama and then he flipped out when he was asked about what he said. The reporter asked him what he said and used his EXACT WORDS. Santorum needs to stand behind what he says or shut the heck up.

Just like when he said that we might as well keep Obama instead of vote Romney in and then he said that his words were being twisted. There is video of him saying it!

He needs to do everyone a favor and get out of the race. He isn't helping anything.

Can't say that I agree with either Sarah Palin or Rick Santorum on anything. That being said, Santorum was right. The NY Times reporter was 100% manipulating the senator's comments and taking them out of context. Also, the post here does not give an accurate summary of the exchange. The reporter asked if Santorum really believed that Romney was the worst republican in the country. What Santorum acutally said was that Romney was the worst republican in the country to go up against Obama in the general. That kind of selective quoting is journalistically dishonest.

Sure, cursing out a reporter really makes a candidate qualified to be president. Santorum and Palin are so beneath the role of president. They are crude and stupid people who have no presidential standing and aren't good enough to be in the same room with Obama. She needs to stay out of this election and hut her uninformed mouth.

Only in RightWingNuttia is it a distortion to quote someone verbatim. The GOP is embarrassing themselves.

Perhaps, Sarah. On the other hand we really enjoy what the rightist Conservatives continue to do to Conservatives. It's a laugh riot.
