Bush 41 to endorse Romney

Washington (CNN) - In another sign the GOP establishment is coalescing behind Mitt Romney, former President George H.W. Bush is scheduled to formally endorse the Republican frontrunner on Thursday.

A Romney campaign spokeswoman confirmed Bush is expected to officially throw his support behind the GOP contender at an event in Houston, near the former president's home.

Before Wednesday's campaign announcement, the Bush family had already signaled its support for Romney. Earlier this month, the campaign recruited former first lady Barbara Bush to record pro-Romney robo-calls in the days leading up the Ohio primary on Super Tuesday.

"We have known the Romneys for years and believe Mitt is the best man to lead the country for the next four years and Ann will make a great first lady," Mrs. Bush said on the call.

Last December, Bush made it clear he intended to support Romney in an interview with the Houston Chronicle.

"I think Romney is the best choice for us," former President Bush told the Houston Chronicle.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush endorsed Romney last week.

Hang in there, big guy. Don't let this election get you to emotionally involved. Emotions cloud reason.

Gee, that's almost word for word the same lackluster endorsement that your wife gave him. Whta's up with the complete lack of enthusiasm over Etch-a-Sketch Romney? Could it be that your conscience and common sense are getting in the way of your scripted lies, er, lines?
You did your duty George, go home and rest, you don't look healthy.
    Obama 2012. Seriously America.

Big surprise, a Republican endorsing one of their own. Sure Mr. Romney will take your tepid "endorsement" because the party needs to fall in line. Given the state 43 left the country in the Bushes should just be quiet and fade away if the want to inprove Jeb's shot in 2016.

  5. Obama's Snake Oil on Sale - Git yur lies and deceit here!!

My smoke, mirrors and snake oil wil be able to overcome all these endorsements of my opponent. It worked in 2008 and I'm sure I can con the American people one last time so I can complete our unilateral disarmament deal with my buddy Vladimir.

What a surprise. He waits till the primary is effectively over and then weighs in. He could have at least had the courage (or ignorance) of Palin and endorsed someone while it still mattered.

    So much bigotry expressed here

A "bigot," is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one who exhibits intolerance and animosity toward members of a group. Bigotry may be directed towards those of a differing political alignment and/or economic status. Bigotry is sometimes developed into an ideology or world view.

Well if that don't seal the deal, I don't know what will. Just because cult leader Romney hides his own money in off shore accounts does not mean he will not be a good president.....Hail LDS

First Jeb and now the old man which is more proof the Republicans want to keep the former GWB out of site because he is a reminder to the American people that he created a disaster during his presidency. But don't be fooled people, it's still the same old GWB policies at work.

Endorsements from the Bush family, yeah, that should carry a lot of weight . . . NOT! They must own a Etch-a-Sketch too, lets not forget that the Bush family clan got America in three wars, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq. also, put a monkey wrench in the economy, both times. Great Grandpa, time to go back home to your favorite place, in your bedroom, doing your favorite pastime, staring out the window looking for Big Bird.

COALESCING behind Romney!?! The GOP establishment has been firmly behind Romney since he stepped down for McCain in 2008. It is the BASE of the GOP that has problems with Romney.

I have to chuckle at these folks – many of whom have automatic delegate seats at the convention – coming out endorsing Willard, bringing him closer and closer to 1144. Who has endorsed Santorum lately outside of the most unpopular governor in recent Pennsylvania history?

Surprise, surprise. Bush part III. Robmey has the same people behind him and working for him. Who in their right mind wants to go back to Bush policies? My God people, they crippled our economy. I just can't understand why so many non 1% ers would even consider voting republican. If this vampire capitalist gets in, we are so screwed.

Domican mama– That WAS quoting the robo-call made by Barbara Bush not a new quote from HW. Time to brush up on the comprehension skills.

Obama has increased the deficit at a rate several times greater than ANY GOP pres. I've never trusted what Obama might do in a 2nd term without an election hanging over his head. The "open mic" situation just confirmed that he's planning to let loose with some very dangerous left-wing policies if given the chance. He's been over his head and taking advice from extremists with an agenda. We can't give him a chance to do further damage. Before everyone spouts off about Bush- Obama promised he would fix the economy in 3 yrs and if not he didn't deserve another term. We just need to hold him at him word. NEVER has the US had it's credit rating downgraded. NEVER has the US racked up a debt greater than the GDP. These are both the biggest issues our country faces and Romney is the only candidate who knows the in's and out's of economic growth and how turn turn around the ship when facing an iceberg.

Where are the WMD's? How's your son doing at the Haige? You think Romney would uncover the WMD's? And by the way, Romney don't like wars like your son! He only like to ship jobs overseas!
