Bush 41 to endorse Romney

Washington (CNN) - In another sign the GOP establishment is coalescing behind Mitt Romney, former President George H.W. Bush is scheduled to formally endorse the Republican frontrunner on Thursday.

A Romney campaign spokeswoman confirmed Bush is expected to officially throw his support behind the GOP contender at an event in Houston, near the former president's home.

Before Wednesday's campaign announcement, the Bush family had already signaled its support for Romney. Earlier this month, the campaign recruited former first lady Barbara Bush to record pro-Romney robo-calls in the days leading up the Ohio primary on Super Tuesday.

"We have known the Romneys for years and believe Mitt is the best man to lead the country for the next four years and Ann will make a great first lady," Mrs. Bush said on the call.

Last December, Bush made it clear he intended to support Romney in an interview with the Houston Chronicle.

"I think Romney is the best choice for us," former President Bush told the Houston Chronicle.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush endorsed Romney last week.

Well, Mr. Bush, I never liked your policies but I do respect you and believe you do care about what's best for America. Willard on the other hand will NEVER become president of the United States and Ann will NEVER be First Lady. Neither of them has a clue of how much hard work and dedication it takes to lead a country this great. When has Ann ever come to a black community or a Hispanic community to address her husband's policies and how they might benefit us? Answer: Never. Willard has spent his entire life turning his back on this country unless he could pocket some profit. When this country needed him in war he was hiding out in France and instead of investing here they keep their money in Swiss bank accounts). Now all of a sudden he's a lover of the U.S. and wants us to give him the presidency in his quest for power? Please. There is absolutely NOTHING in either of their characters that slightly suggest to me they are willing to give unconditionally to this country and it's well being. Both are totally lacking in discipline and empathy and are not what this country needs at such a critical time. The Romney's are heartless, cold and cruel people who love only themselves and money. No thank you.

Mr. Bush is endorsing Willard because he's all for going to war with Iran and carrying out his New World Order which he called for in the 90's.

"Gee, that's almost word for word the same lackluster endorsement that your wife gave him. Whta's up with the complete lack of enthusiasm over Etch-a-Sketch Romney? Could it be that your conscience and common sense are getting in the way of your scripted lies, er, lines?"

He's getting old and a little confused. Yesterday's SCOTUS arguments and Scalia's use of the nonsense analogy about the government forcing everyone to eat their broccolli has him all out of sorts. Barbara even found him hiding in the closet after the evening news.

He also thought his own son would make a good president, so what's his opinion worth? Sorry, not buying it.

Bush Senior was an inept President. What accomplishments he can truly point to, beside putting the U.S. a war that was unjust.

Is their a point to this article? I like Poppa Bush, and thought he was a decent president. But I don't see where this is very news worthy.

He was talking about FOOD in general. If this Obamanation is allowed to stand then there would be NO LIMITS on thwta the government could force the American people to buy in the name of "it's better for the commune".

Lefties seem to have absolutely no concept of the term "indiviudal freedom".

The endorsement doesn't count for much because Bush, a moderate Republican, cannot pass the purity test of family values conservatives and Tea Party zealots.

Wake me when an establishment Republican does not endorse Romney. The Republican Party will nominate Romney because it is his turn. What the Republican base wants is not relevant. Of course, the base can stay home on election day. Many of them already do that in the primary. Nothing kills voter turnout like a candidate that no one likes.

Woman in California you know what Bush Sr. is doing dontcha? Toeing the Party line. Adhering to The Memo. Being a good little Rethug lest his membership get cancelled by these zealots that have taken hold of his once venerable, civic-minded, and patriotic Party. I would go as far as to say that Bush Sr. ( who doesn't look like he is long for this world) will be happy to not have to associate himself with these greedy, selfish, and bought-and-paid for cartoon characters that are trying to finish off the job that his dufus son started when he left our country in near ruins.
    Obama 2012. Seriously America.

Bush Sr. endorsing Romney means one thing! Romney will be endorsing and promoting the very same failed foreign and domestic republiacn policies that have led to our downfall! By the way, how's Dick Cheyney's baboon heart doing? Can't wait for it to take the 5th!

Very good. Romney will be able to start his real run against Obama pretty soon. Competence vs. Incompetence. Results vs. Hopelessly Bad Change. Obama needs to campaign less and start packing his bags.

Isn't this exactly what you progressive communists demand of your own party members or risk them being called DINOs followed by calls of resignation?
