Bush 41 to endorse Romney

Washington (CNN) - In another sign the GOP establishment is coalescing behind Mitt Romney, former President George H.W. Bush is scheduled to formally endorse the Republican frontrunner on Thursday.

A Romney campaign spokeswoman confirmed Bush is expected to officially throw his support behind the GOP contender at an event in Houston, near the former president's home.

Before Wednesday's campaign announcement, the Bush family had already signaled its support for Romney. Earlier this month, the campaign recruited former first lady Barbara Bush to record pro-Romney robo-calls in the days leading up the Ohio primary on Super Tuesday.

"We have known the Romneys for years and believe Mitt is the best man to lead the country for the next four years and Ann will make a great first lady," Mrs. Bush said on the call.

Last December, Bush made it clear he intended to support Romney in an interview with the Houston Chronicle.

"I think Romney is the best choice for us," former President Bush told the Houston Chronicle.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush endorsed Romney last week.

Well, what else can they do? After all, he's the quintessential 1%er establshment Repugnant. If he were Christian, they'd like him better, but he'll do all he can to ensure that the aristocracy remains in power and the middle class declines into poverty.

    JOHN
Bush Senior was an inept President. What accomplishments he can truly point to, beside putting the U.S. a war that was unjust.

...so you were okay with Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait? Interesting. I've never heard anyone say that. In any event, Bush senior signed into law the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ) and the North American Free Trade Agreement ( NAFTA ) with Mexico and Canada. But his big mistake was compromising with Democrats to raise taxes.

So what is Obama promising the American people in his second term if they are stupid enough to vote for him again? MORE unconstitutional BS that we don't want? Unilateral disarmament? Welath confiscation and redistribution?

The socialist is out of the bag at this point. He needs to come clean with the American people on what his agenda is because we now know that "fundamentally change America" meant the institution of European style socialism. Enough smoke and mirros Obama. Come clean!!

George the first only looks good in comparison to George the Second. Otherwise he was a particularly mediocre President. "Wouldn't be prudent at this juncture"

Promote WAR which indirectly promotes selling of weapons hence supporting the Military Industrial Complex....and you will gain the favor of the powerful on the Right.

Carlile Group, LLC, is ran by rich evil people that trade in human souls and the selling of instruments of war.

Mittens picks up yet another ringing endorsement. This time from the patriarch of the "Duh" family....a RINO by today's purity party standards. I'm waiting for their messiah Ronny to endorse someone. But since he's a RINO too, what good is that??

@Truth and Nothing But the Truth – So what is Obama promising the American people in his second term if they are stupid enough to vote for him again? MORE unconstitutional BS that we don't want? Unilateral disarmament? Welath confiscation and redistribution?

The socialist is out of the bag at this point.
    -------------------------------
We regret to inform you that Socialism (yes, I know it's a dirty left-wing word) has been alive and well in the USA for the last 70+ (SEVENTY) years. Not really much to get riled up about.
"Welath confiscation and redistribution?" – now that is preposterous. The current crop of GOP clowns intends to do exactly that. We have Ryan saying that repealing ACA will save Medicare. Sure it will, but the whole point of ACA is to get the POWERFUL pharma-corps to to cover the elderly AND pre-exisiting conditions – the very reason for the existence of Medicare. ACA will save BILLIONS in Medicare expenses. But keeping it, cause more $$ out of my pocket to keep it and keeps the "wealth confiscation" going into the hands of the 1% who benefit from investing in pharma-corps.

Last I heard the US Military has been an all volunteer force for decades. I served my 4 Thomas and am thankful for every day I spent in the Navy, but hold nothing against people who made other choices.

Four & Door , I thank you for your service in the Navy , I also thank you for your recognition of Bush's 10 year wars.

However none of Romney's sons served in the military and that is fact.

What is so wrong with the AFFORDABLE CARE ACT? Are you part of one of the insurance companies that make a big profit for denying healthcare and over-charging?

    " Welath confiscation and redistribution?"

You mean taxes? Sorry pal, but the Constitution gives the gov't explicit power to tax. Any way you slice it, taxation of any form whatsoever is "wealth redistribution." You gonna tell us that taxation is unconstitutional now too? Fact is, the tax code has been THE single biggest tool for wealth redistribution in this country for decades AND IT REDISTRIBUTES THE WEALTH UPWARDS...i.e., in the opposite direction your nonsense demagoguery about socialism posits.

"He needs to come clean with the American people on what his agenda is because we now know that "fundamentally change America" meant the institution of European style socialism. Enough smoke and mirros Obama. Come clean!!"

The only thing that needs cleaning is your tinfoil hat...it's really lost its luster.

And this is supposed to mean what? What else can the dominant republican family patriarch do but endorse the front-rummer, and try to put an end t the primary madness/circus the GOP has entertained us with? I for one hope the circus coontinues......up to election day Cheap cheap entertainment and really let's the American public know how off-base the GOP truly is.

He may not have been a great President, but he is a good person and I do respect him and Barbara Bush.

George HW Bush and George Romney were probably buddies. They probably had mutual friends and mingled in some of the same social circles. No surprise here.
