Bush 41 to endorse Romney

Washington (CNN) - In another sign the GOP establishment is coalescing behind Mitt Romney, former President George H.W. Bush is scheduled to formally endorse the Republican frontrunner on Thursday.

A Romney campaign spokeswoman confirmed Bush is expected to officially throw his support behind the GOP contender at an event in Houston, near the former president's home.

Before Wednesday's campaign announcement, the Bush family had already signaled its support for Romney. Earlier this month, the campaign recruited former first lady Barbara Bush to record pro-Romney robo-calls in the days leading up the Ohio primary on Super Tuesday.

"We have known the Romneys for years and believe Mitt is the best man to lead the country for the next four years and Ann will make a great first lady," Mrs. Bush said on the call.

Last December, Bush made it clear he intended to support Romney in an interview with the Houston Chronicle.

"I think Romney is the best choice for us," former President Bush told the Houston Chronicle.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush endorsed Romney last week.

So Bush 41 gives his endorsement and they gain 5 points and then W gives his and they lose 10...Makes sense...

Bush 41 will endorse Mitt Romney. When Bush 43 was asked who he will endorse, he replied, "I like turtles"..

    Wake up people
... you expect President Obama to get it back on track in 3? And yes, it has only been 3 years, he didn't take office until January 2009.
    ____________________________________________________________________________________________
Not at all, but that's not the point. Here's the point. When Obama took office the economy had taken a huge hit. Home prices were dropping, unemployment was climbing and companies were going out of business in pretty much every industry. What did he do? What's the first thing he did?

He came up with an $800 billion spending bill based on promises of 4 million jobs. He increased government spending when it was obvious government revenues were dropping like a rock. Just as businesses and families across the country were cutting back everything, Obama came up with the largest spending bill in history. He promised and he fought. And he passed it along party lines.

It was a huge roll of the dice against strong opposition and it didn't work. Unemployment went up to 8%, 9%, 10% and beyond. This was poor management based on politics instead of economics. He brought this on himself with reckless promises. The message in November will be simple. Accountability.

    Romney 2012!

You are an idiot. You must stop paying attention to Rush and listening to Fox. Do a little research and I'm sure you will find out that the very things you are blaming President Obama for are a direct result of the Bush administration and of the damage that has been done by the Republicans now in office. The only way to get this country back on track is to vote for President Obama for a second term and to vote out all the Republicans in Congress and the Senate.

HA! Like any Bush endorsement will help Romney. Or his Evil Spawn...
Romney will not win the election.
No matter who endorses him nor how much money he spends. Nor how much hate republicans spill until election.
Obama will win his second term.
    Like you or not.
So wake up and smell the latte!

@Troy – I love reading on here how liberals are attributing things put in place before Obama took office as "his accomplishments" and ignoring his glaring failures.
    -----------------------------------–
I'm OK with the right disliking Obama, but you never come up with any FACTS to back your claims. Where are the "glaring failures" of which you talk? ACA? Budget? Credit Down grade? Deficit? That should give you plenty of ammo. Use your 2Am right and fire back with some FACTS to backup your opinions. Uh ??? Think you can manage that?

HaHa, what a laugh. This just means he is in with the criminals, If I were running for president, and a Bush wanted to publically endorse me. I think I might have to ask them not to make it public lol, I wouldn't want that reputation. This country is getting ready to erupt, and life as we know it, is about to change. I can feel it in every bone in my body, something is telling me to start to collect survival gear, food, & water. We might be going back to the cowboy days, all these people who have been spoiled all their lives, and had everything handed to them on a silver platter are going to be having a rude awakening if this world is going in the direction I feel it is. Our government stold all our money, probably the gold too. Think about it, They have been spending trillions of dollars, where have they been spending it. I would think that if trillions were being spent in a country, there would be alot of money circulating there also. Where is it? Washington, What Have You Done With All The Money????????? Where is it all?????????? What country?????

Four..It's called Keynesian economics. Google it pls. It's the same thing done in the New Deal era and many other times. When private industry is not investing, Govt has to step in to keep the economy flowing. The big diff between the 2 parties is the target. That doesn't matter to the 1% of course, but the rest of us [mostly] needed the help. And Four... what about Bush (43)'s "Accountability" for the $850 Billion TARP bailout, that Obama inherited. Where's the indignation there?? What about TWO [non-budgeted] wars totaling over $1 TRILLION + 4300+ US lives by the time Obama took office started by Bush (43) ?? Accountability..?? I call BS!
It's amazes me how you continually spout about Obama and socialism, failings, accountability, unemployment rates, etc. when the last 8 yrs of failed GOP policies are the root cause of most of this situation. What about the Dow being at it's highest ever, increased unemployment, GDP up!! – despite EVERYTHING the GOP have thrown at him while making their sole objective (of the last 3 yrs) – to make him one term President. Seems like sour grapes to me.

"He came up with an $800 billion spending bill based on promises of 4 million jobs."

By that definition, mission accomplished. He's added 4M jobs in the past 3 years and we've had job growth for 24 straight months. Numbers don't lie. Keynensian economic principles work. If the morons on the right, who cling to their randian reaganomic ideological blanky like a gaggle of thumb-sucking Shroeders sans piano talent, had let the package be bigger, as was the original plan and was recommended by expert economists all over the country, we'd be in even better shape.

"He increased government spending when it was obvious government revenues were dropping like a rock. Just as businesses and families across the country were cutting back everything, Obama came up with the largest spending bill in history. He promised and he fought. And he passed it along party lines."

Aaaaw...still ignoring the deficits caused by the Bush tax cuts, unfunded wars and unfunded prescription drug coverage expansion and trying to pin it all on Obama and the Dems...how cute. Guess what? The Stimulus package is a tiny sliver of the debt and deficit problems compared to all three of those factors, respectively.

"It was a huge roll of the dice against strong opposition and it didn't work. Unemployment went up to 8%, 9%, 10% and beyond. This was poor management based on politics instead of economics. He brought this on himself with reckless promises. The message in November will be simple. Accountability."

    1. No roll of the dice. He was following tjhe sound advice of expert economists from around the country who were saying that a spending package was necessary to shore up and stabilize the economy and give it a chance to turn around. GOPers prevented it from working as well as it could have by preventing it from being as big as was recommended....because, of course, making it less effective helps them create the self-fulfilling prophecy at the cornerstone of their ideology: gov't is broken...see, we broke it.

    2. Yes, unemployment trajectory continued as predicted by everyone, even the expert economists who argued for stimulus because it takes a while to have an effect and, well, we've already discussed the GOP trying to abotage the whole thing by maknig it too small.

    3. The message in November will be nnothing short of "check out the robot in the Armani suit who has no social graces, can't relate to reglar people and wants to cut his own taxes even though he already pays a far lower effective tax rate on his vast millions than average middle class folks."

Anyone who think Romney is going to bring accountability to the WH is dreaming. His single term in office in MA was filled with tax hikes and spending cuts that drove business out of the state, and resulted in a net gain of fewer than 75, 000 jobs, increasing the number of people employed int eh state by less than 1.5% in 4 years. Anemic, to say the least. Romney has run from his accomplishements because he so afraid of having to explain why he did what he did. He has no core at all, and no spine.

It was to be expected that Bush would endorse Romney. Mrs. Bush had stated that she and Anne Romney are very good friends. It has also been reported in the past that there is a family connection between the Bush and Romney family. So I gather that we may need to gear up for another armed conflict if Romney win,and this time it will be our No 1 enemy-Russia(sic) as he proclaimed last week

I'm starting to think that it makes little, if any, difference who's president.

I'm also starting to think it makes little, if any, difference who our senators and representatives are.

I've come to believe that they're all corrupt and for sale to the highest bidder (or lobbyiest).

Thank God his son, George '3 below plant life' Bush was not giving the endorsement.
That would have locked in the 20% of republican right wing NAZI conservatives who actually still believe that George 'runt of the litter' Bush Junior was a great President.
Romney could use George 'mini me' W. Bush & his percentage of the Brain Donor voters.
