(CNN) – Rick Santorum's three-year-old daughter Isabella, who suffers from a chromosomal condition called Trisomy 18, is back in the hospital, his spokesman Hogan Gidley announced Friday.
"Rick and his wife Karen have taken their daughter Bella to the hospital," Gidley said in a statement. "The family requests prayers and privacy as Bella works her way to recovery."

Better known as "Bella," Santorum's daughter was hospitalized with pneumonia in January, prompting the candidate to cancel campaign events shortly before Florida's Republican primary.
Trisomy 18 is caused by extra material from chromosome 18, and is three times more common in girls than boys. Half of patients born with the condition do not survive past the first week of life, according to the National Institutes of Health. Patients who do survive past the first week experience serious medical and developmental problems.

My thoughts and prayers go with you and your family Mr. Santorum. May she be home with you soon, happy, recovered, and safe.
Oh! poor angel. Get well soon.
I wish you well Little One!!!!
Prayers for Bella and the Santorum family. Gotta be a tough way to spend Easter. Hang tough, Bella!
Prayers for Bella on the way, Rick. May God give you strength.
Political leanings have no relevance in this situation. I wish and pray for the best for Rick and his daughter.
Praying for a Good Friday miracle for little Bella, Rick.
She looks like such a sweetie. 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 year the length of time spent with your child is never enough. No parent should ever have to suffer the loss. God be with Bella and her family.
God bless the child .
Being the parent of a special needs daughter myself, my thoughts are with the Santorum family at this time. Political leanings aside, I do hope things get better for her (Yes I know the reality of the situation) and the Santorum family!
I am glad that they could afford health care
I do not support Santorum in any way, except to put my prayers toward that little girl and the whole Santorum family.
May miracles occur.
My thought and prayers are with the Senator. This is one of the worse things that can happen to a dad my heart goes out to him.
Easter weekend is no time for a little kid to be hospitalized. I strongly disagree with Santorum's politics and beliefs, but I wish him and his family nothing but good in this difficult time.
Hope she is ok all, politics aside.
It doesn't matter that I don't agree with her father's view on many things, moments like this we all should pray for our children. I pray to almighty for this little angle.
Best to you and your family, Rick.
I don't care for the guy at all, but he is really in his element and you can see the genuine love he has for his little one when he is with her.
P.S., sweet, beautiful photo.
Sending lots of prayers for sweet Bella.and for Rick and Karen as well.
You got this Baby Girl!
I guess he's still lucky enough to be able to afford to bring his sick kid to the hospital. I hope she gets well, and I hope he realizes how someone might feel who has no insurance. Happy Easter Rick!
Bella will be smiling again, she's a fighter.
How can Santorum complain about health care when taxpayers are paying for his family socialized medicine.
Get WELL La Belle!!!
