(CNN) - Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, who has long been an outspoken critic of President Barack Obama, used scathing language in a tweet Saturday to condemn the president's remarks about the Supreme Court last week.
"Constituents askd why i am not outraged at PresO attack on supreme court independence. Bcause Am ppl r not stupid as this x prof of con law," Grassley wrote, using typical shorthand for the social networking website.

Responding to the message, Obama campaign senior strategist David Axelrod, himself a prolific tweeter who often engages critics of the president, blasted the Iowa senator.
"Heads up, Sen. Grassley. I think a 6-year-old hijacked your account and is sending out foolish Tweets just to embarrass you!" Axelrod wrote.
Obama last Monday was asked about measures his administration was taking in the event the United States Supreme Court determines his health care law is unconstitutional. The high court heard oral arguments on the law in late March. Obama said such a decision would be "unprecedented."
"I'm confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress," the president said.

Can we just speak with civility? Should our elected officials be calling each other names? Is this what we Americans are about? Embarrassing.
Not a lot of confidence in a SCOTUS that caused Citizens United...
Sounds like Grassley is the "stupid" one...
What a joke for a guy like Chuck Grassley (having limited intelligence and absolutely no vision) to call the President names. It shows how absurd and utterly bankrupt so many of these Republican politicians really are. History will have nothing to say about Grassley - because he is of such little consequence - but if it has anything to say, it won't be kind. Grassley, stick a towel in it. And by the way, the President's comments were apt.
The most common technique used by anti-Whites to demoralize White people is to promote a racially brown future, BUT ONLY IN WHITE COUNTRIES. You haven’t told the Black people in Africa that they have to be blended out of existence; You haven’t told the Asian people that they have to be blended out of existence. It is ONLY White people that are targeted with this tactic and this agenda…It’s genocide…White Genocide
Now you do see why White people see you as a vicious Anti-White?
Grassley should look back at his own comments railing agains "activist judges" in the 1990 hearings to confirm Justice Souter.
Flaming hypocrite.
Incompetent is probably a better word for the economically challenged President.
Sen. Assley is an insult to the intelligence of the American people.
And he owes the POTUS an apology.
What law school did you graduate from, Chuck?
That's what I thought.
Go back to the pasture with your "wise" friend, the omniscient and profound ex-Misleader in Chief Mr. Bush.
Blacks have 50 nations in Africa. Africa has the greatest concentration of resources on the planet. Africa has the most fertile soil on the planet. Blacks are the most populous racial group on the planet. Whites are a global minority and blacks live among us as a minority. After decades of race hustling we even made one president. What more do you want us to do for you?
Comedy. I can't wait for the presidential debates! Hopefully, Herman and Michelle will return for some dates. Maybe, I'll try to hit on Rick Perry if I see him.
I happen to live in Iowa and I can remember when Grassley first ran for political office. At that time members of his own party were calling him a "hick." You can see why when you see him speak in person. He acts like he just stepped out of an outhouse.
I don't mind someone, even a Congressman, calling The President stupid. Lord knows I've called Every President since Bush 1 stupid at some point.
As long as Chucky Boy didn't (or doesn't) scream "RESPECT THE OFFICE!" when someone called (or calls) the last (or next) Republican President stupid, then him and I will be cool.
Really?? What was Chuckie's GPA at Iowa A&M and Storm Door Company?
Yet another republican hypocrite. Speak his langauge – fund his next primary or general election opponent.
Gee I am shocked. Shocked I tell you. Yet another Republican shows total disrespect for the President. Actually, I would be more shocked if a Republican had the character to show respect to PRESIDENT Obama. The only things that are consistent from the Republican party are obstruction, distortion and fabrication when it comes to our president. If a Republican were to state facts instead, the world might end.
Obama called police stupid when investigating a radical black professor. Take what you dish out, Mr. President.....
and this is the level of discourse from a United States Senator, if you don't respect the man at least respect the offices both yours and Presidents
"The concept of the individual health insurance mandate is considered to have originated in 1989 at the conservative Heritage Foundation. In 1993, Republicans twice introduced health care bills that contained an individual health insurance mandate. Advocates for those bills included prominent Republicans who today oppose the mandate including Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Charles Grassley (R-IA), Robert Bennett (R-UT), and Christopher Bond (R-MO). In 2007, Democrats and Republicans introduced a bi-partisan bill containing the mandate"

Ilya – you can speak for all the meth-addicted, half-witted, waste of air, backwoods hicks that share your retarded.views. Stop with the delusions, please – I doubt you're mentally capable of speaking for yourself, never mind the rest of your race.
What ever happened to free speech. Does it apply only when it is good for the progressive?
Grassley...go home and learn some mutual respect techniques – they teach it in Boy Scouts.
I hated, htaed the fact that George W Bush was President. He did lasting damage to about everything thegovernment touches. But I never said I hated him and I always spoke with respect towards the office he stole.
Chuck Grassley calling President Obama "stupid" is about as ridiculous as it gets. This from the most IQ deficient senator ever! The man can hardly mumble out a full sentence. He is the one who's stupid.
I agree it is petty to call the POTUS "stupid". However it is opinion. Just like what Harry Ried said about Bush calling him a "loser". As long as they do it on their own time not on the clock.
Ilya, sit down and shut up and please go back to school, you are giving intelligent white people a bad name. No offense to any of my white friends and fellow intelligent posters.
OBAMA 2012!
