(CNN) - Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa, who has long been an outspoken critic of President Barack Obama, used scathing language in a tweet Saturday to condemn the president's remarks about the Supreme Court last week.
"Constituents askd why i am not outraged at PresO attack on supreme court independence. Bcause Am ppl r not stupid as this x prof of con law," Grassley wrote, using typical shorthand for the social networking website.

Responding to the message, Obama campaign senior strategist David Axelrod, himself a prolific tweeter who often engages critics of the president, blasted the Iowa senator.
"Heads up, Sen. Grassley. I think a 6-year-old hijacked your account and is sending out foolish Tweets just to embarrass you!" Axelrod wrote.
Obama last Monday was asked about measures his administration was taking in the event the United States Supreme Court determines his health care law is unconstitutional. The high court heard oral arguments on the law in late March. Obama said such a decision would be "unprecedented."
"I'm confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress," the president said.

The government didn't have to be directly involved in health care when I was in school (70 years ago). Hospitals were run by non-profit organizations primarily supported by donations and volunteers to cover those who could not pay their own way. I can remember when health related advertising of any kind was discouraged as being non professional and rarely seen.
As time passed, big business seen a tremendous opportunity to make money on health care and gradually made deals to eventually put most non-profits out of business while using their good names to attract business. Along with that, came media advertising expense and the need to assure huge profits for their share holders and support business management overhead which was not previously a part of health care. Our government has passed legislation to require all people to be responsible for their own family's health care. Now the question should be " can the government require responsible individuals who pay for their own health care, pay for the health care of the freeloaders?" This is now the situation in the U.S. Those legitimately unable to pay for their care without help are not considered freeloaders. I consider those who can and do self-insure to be the worst freeloaders.
Obama is not stupid, but why is this news? Calling the president stupid to his face, during a speech - that would be disrespectful. Calling him stupid, in a tweet, for doing something you think is wrong - that is absolutely fine.
Where is the transparency we were sold. .

I do really not understand what these ppl are elected for? I think his statement fully manifests the Senator's ugly look not towards President of the United State but people of the United States cause the President was elected by the majority number of the country; therefore, insulting him means disrispecting the people who elected him to be his President. I have to wonder what Republicans teach their children, it can't basic things like respect for others. I guess they like that family values slogan, but they sure don't know what it means. This kind of disrespect from an elected official toward our President should be met with some kind of official reprimand.
From all indications, most republicans and at this time, Grassley, are under the opinion that americans forget what has been said in the past on the same subject. They seem to talk out of both corners of their mouths and will lie just as sure as we breath.air. The sad fact about Grassley and others like him is that most republicans will believe anything they are told by other republicans. I am retired and see and hear political statements everyday, and 75% of the time a republican talking head or congressman will lie as to the stated facts. Additionally, when things are not done in accordance to the republicans, they will attempt to take their ball and go home. They are of the opinion that the country can only be managed by them. They want to take back their country. What about the rest of us that were born in America, its our country also. As stated, they are good liars, FOX news is included and their listeners will believer anything the the talking heads say. They are equipped to gather the facts and make a valid decision about various statements. I agree, our country is going to hell in a handbasket.
What did Obama say that's so controversial? What ELSE was the guy gonna say when the Republicans got Obamacare before the Supreme Court: "No Comment"..or...."Gee...I'm rely nervous the Supreme Court is going to throw out 2 years of our work?"... or...."OMG...they're going to throw everything out! What are we gonna DO?". I'll agree...He was slightly off when he said a negative finding would be "unprecedented". A right wing court threw out FDR's, NRA programs and probably drove us into a double dip Depression. But...When did Obama "threaten" the Supreme Court? He knows they have the legal authority to thrown out ANY law. His point was..."They don't often throw out laws passed by Congress"...and he was right! Is this ALL the Republicans can throw at him? I'd be a little worried if it was.

Can't imagine what he'll do next to save his reelection campaign. Certainly his performance in DC does not warrant
