Obama hits Florida for campaign dollars

West Palm Beach, Florida (CNN) - President Barack Obama will attend three fundraisers in Florida on Tuesday as he continues to raise funds for his re-election bid.

Obama will deliver a speech at a private residence in Palm Beach Gardens before giving a speech at a hotel in Hollywood and attending a campaign event at a private home in Golden Beach.

Tickets for the first luncheon of approximately 60 guests started at $10,000 per person, according to a campaign official. The larger reception of 850 supporters will feature a musical performance by John Legend. Those tickets were available for $250 or $500. Admission for the private event cost $15,000 per person.

All proceeds from Tuesday's events will go to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee of Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic parties.

Obama will also make an economic speech at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, in which he is expected to speak on behalf of the Buffett Rule that the White House argues would make the tax code fairer.

Florida is the latest in a string of potential 2012 battleground states the president has frequented of late. Then-Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama won Florida in 2008 with 50.9% of the vote to then-Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain's 48.4%

The Sunshine State visit comes the week after the first quarter fundraising deadline. Obama offered some insight into the recent figures via Twitter on Tuesday. By the end of March, 1.8 million people had donated to the Obama's re-election, according to the official account. In March alone Team Obama welcomed 190,000 new donors, said one tweet.

– CNN's Paul Steinhauser and Jeanne Sahadi contributed to this report.

Yea Mr Prez, you should definitly get all up in that campaign donation mode. You my great Prez are up against Mr Personality who has been SEVERLY bought & paid fo by BIg Oil. Willard has sold his soul for the Billion $ campaign to lobby hard for the Keystone Pipelines 100 % supply to leave America to other countrires once it Starts flowing. Our great Prez is putting tremendous pressure on Congress to keep that supply here in the US. Mr Personality needs that money to SURPRESS the votes of MILLIONS, mainly from the disabled, hispanics, minorities, the poor, the elderly & as many other citizens of America who may not have the proper ID to cast their ballot. Mittens might keep aliitle of it for his 12 elevators for his 12 houses for his 12 cars. Pastor draft dodgin Romney is gonna make this Country go back 80 years. Say goodbye to the Middle Class.

Yet more Obama fundraising on the taxpayer dime. We need new laws that keep this theft of taxpayer dollars from happening while the country goes bankrupt. His campign should be paying for these trips. But his fund rasing is not quite what they were hoping so he's scamming the taxpayers instead. I guess the American people should not be surprised by this. Everything else Obama has done has been a scam too.

Not to worry...if Mittens wins, he can just replace whatever he spends by enacting his plan to lower his and the rest of the 1%'s tax rates to near zero! Yaaaaaay!!!!

All he really needs is what he already has, a bunch of lies, the corrupt unions, the liberally biased mainstream media and a bunch of voters who have been dumbed down by the NEA. He has already played the class warfare and race cards and is now starting the "Republicans will kill you" fear tactics of all democrat liberal campaigns.. That should put him over the top.

George Bush spent an average of 60 days per year on vacation, outside of DC. Small wonder the economy tanked on his watch.

Did you criticize Bush for this? If not, that makes you hypocrite. Spare us your poutrage. And if you have evidence of a President Obama "scam" please share it.

Campaign set a very public goal of $60M for the first quarter this year and hit $86M, giving him a giant lead over any of the GOPers, including Mittens the Sisterwife. DNC also broke records for the 1st quarter this year. "Not quite what they were hoping" indeed....it far surpassed what they were hoping.

No amount of money will help Obama get re-elected when the American pepole have to fill up their cars ever week:
Another low of the historic Obama presidency
Obama administration, gas prices increased by 103.79 percent.
Carter administration, gas prices increased by 103.77 percent.
Reagan administration, gas prices actually dropped 66 percent.
Clinton administration, gas prices increased by 30 percent
Both Bush presidencies, gas prices rose by 20 percent.

    Kiss the Obama administration GOODBYE!

From the what I read on this site the main defense for obama is that it was ok for bush to do these many things so it is ok for obama to be like bush.
Are you saying that obama is like bush, after his whole spill in 2008 was bush is the bad guy?
