Obama and Biden hit swing states to push tax plan

Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden tag team Thursday as they continue their push for the so-called "Buffett Rule," and they're making their pitches in crucial battleground states.

As the vice president heads to Exeter, New Hampshire to give a campaign speech in favor of the legislation that would mandate that Americans earning more than $1 million per year pay a 30% tax rate, the president stays at the White House but is expected to tout the proposal in interviews with local television stations in four other swing states.

Obama will speak with local television anchors from Columbus, Ohio, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Saint Louis, Missouri, and Reno, Nevada.

I would attack the tax welfare of a capital gains rate the Bush administration set. The lower rate was supposed to stimulate investment and jobs growth. All of the investment and jobs growth has been overseas.

The president inherited a 1 year old recession (12/31/2007). if the republicans knew how to bring a fast recovery why they allow the recession to happen at the first place and why they couldn't make the recovery come back in one year if they had better solutions?
    this is demagoguery.

So this will add $47 BILLION over TEN YEARS to the government coffers. Over that time, the government will be over spending $10 TRILLION!! Heck take ALL the money from the evil rich and it doesn't come close to solving the REAL problems this country faces.

Obama has NO SOLUTIONS to the REAL problems this country faces so he has concocted this class warfare BS smoke and mirror show to pretend he has solutions because he knows most people are clueless about how bad things really are.

Obama has done tremendous damage to this country with his $5 TRILLIOn in debt and four years of wasted time. If this country re-elects him, he'll add even more debt and waste even more time, time that this country does not have. Obama was the WORSE type of person this country could have elected in 2008 but hey, he gave a good teleprompter speech and that is all that mattered. If the country is that stupid in 2012 and puts him back in the Whitehouse, it will be too late to save the country from a financial point of view. We will be Greece and people better prepare for what that means.

Facts and logic have no place in progressive America.

The "Buffett Rule" is just a variation of the usual petty, vindictive,Leftish rant, "Soak the rich!"

Why don't Obama and Biden campaign on their record instead of the Buffet Rule?

"Every American deserves the right to vote."

Frankly, I disagree. Those who pay no income taxes should not be allowed to vote because all they'll ever do is vote to spend other peoples' money on themselves. That's just not right.

The country would be a lot better off if the lazy deadbeats weren't allowed to vote endlessly for panderers who promised them ever more freebies paid for by someone else.

Type? Would you mind explaining that? That and the significant differences between better types and worse types.

This is great! They should continue basing their whole campaign on a stupid idea that shows what political hacks they both are with no clue about how economics works. Their contention that high earners don't pay enough taxes is both incorrect and not even close to a viable solution for the federal government's economic problems. It is political folly and regardless of what David Axelrod is teaching them, American voters are not stupid.

    Romney/ Ryan 2012.

That's all well and good, except for the simple fact that that is not democracy. That's a plutocracy. In a society such as yours, what happens to the lazy deadbeats? It sounds like a bipolar society to me, where the lower caste is forever relegated to be subservient to the elite.

@Rudy: You seem to forget that we are a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy. Also, what Henry said was those who pay no income tax should not vote, not that poor people should be forever subservient to the rich... Where do you liberals GET these ideas?

Redistrube wealth. That was and is Obama's agenda and that is exactly whats happening. Penalize and demonize the successful people who have sacrificed to make a better life. Disagree with him and he will impugn your integrity and the roguish followers will question your patriotism.
