Well, that's the way the GOBP wants our tax code to work, so lets see how many of our rightwing extremists come out and wholeheartedly support this outcome.

Well, Duh! Have any of you been paying attention at all? Isn't this exactly what the President has been talking about when he says people like him and Warren Buffet should not pay a lower percentage of their income than those earning less? Hey, Guys: it's the OTHER Party that wants to prevent people in the higher income brackets from paying their fair share! In fact, some of them think that people like Mitt Romney should pay nothing on the millions of dollars they receive from investment earnings. Think about that – if Romney gets millions of dollars from the work his money does, not the work HE does, they think he shouldn't have to pay tax on that income! I've heard this "job creator" nonsense until I want to puke! If it's "income," it should be taxed. I'd love to see a single percentage across the board – no deductions for anything or anyone.

Real truth, my guess is you didn't read the entire article. Obama earned 700k range, and paid around 32%. We know Robmey paid 13.9% on 20 million.

President Obama supports a better system where he pays a higher & fairer share.
Romney is pushing for the Ryan scam, so Mitt will pay zero taxes on his capital income to make the unfair disparity in the tax codes even worse.

The general principle behind the rule is that millionaires and billionaires like investor Warren Buffett shouldn't pay a lower percentage of their income in federal taxes than middle-class households, and specifically their secretaries.
Buffett first proposed the idea last August, and in January, Obama made it a centerpiece of his State of the Union address. Buffett's secretary, Debbie Bosanek, attended the speech as a guest of the White House.
That proposal is expected to come up for a vote in the Senate next week, but has no chance of being approved by the Republican-controlled House
------------
Am I correct in assuming that the fact that a secretary (even the secretary of the President of the United States) ends up paying a higher tax rate than a millionaire is exactly what ignited the "proposal that is expected to come up for a vote in the Senate next week, but has no chance of being approved by the Republican-controlled House"?
Rather ingenious of the right to try and spin this as anything less than good for working moms holding down two jobs: motherhood and wage earner.

The Real Truth and Nothing But the The Real Truth
The REAL injustice here is that Obama's secretary works MUCH HARDER than he does and doesn't get anywhere near the same number of vacations. I say we give her HIS salary and him HER salary and call it even. Besides, he's a millionaire and should even be collection a government pay check. Romney didn't collect HIS check when he wa sgovernor so Obama should be held to the same standard.

Change the rules - make all the bosses pay a fair share. That's the point President Obama has been trying to make for 3 years. Don't sit there griping, write your senators and representatives. Don't have guts enough to do it, do you. I already have. Have a big file of their responses, too.

So what's the secretary's name and how much is he/she making in? Is he/she a full-time employee? Does he/she get a pension? Average salary in DC is over 100,000 a year + benefits.
Why doesn't Obama do the right thing and volunteer to pay more taxes ... at least as much as he thinks is fair?

Isn't Buffett the guy who claims he should pay more taxes, yet owes close to a billion dollars in back taxes?
