Romney files for extension on his 2011 tax return

New York (CNNMoney) - Like millions of other Americans, Mitt Romney isn't going to be ready to file his taxes on time this year.

The former Massachusetts governor and his wife Ann filed for an extension for their 2011 taxes, according to tax forms released by the Romney campaign on Friday.

He must not have realized he was the likely GOP nominee or he might have been smart enough to have his minions file his taxes on time... or is there something he doesn't want us to see???

Postponing it until after he loses the election. ha ha ha ha ha a

Something fishy and awfully sneaky about him (of course, that's been true with all the mormons I've ever worked with in my lifetime).

Liar, hypocrit, flip-flop, sneak. What else?

His lawyers need extra time to set them up the way they think " we the people " want them to be, or until after the election.

Why did he need an extension. He said he was unemployed at a campaign stop. If that's the case, why can't he find the time to do his taxes.

It is estimated that Mr. Romney has a wealth of $250 million dollars, with that amount of wealth I would assume he must employ an army of CPA's to handle his fortune. Maybe he should fire them all if they cannot get his taxes prepared on time, actually the government is giving them two extra days to get his taxes in on time. After all he is running for president.

This is a stall tactic by Romney to keep things hidden until just before the election. What a crook!

What? Too busy with his failed campaign (to be in November) or are he and his tax accountants trying to see how best to hide more money?

Who cares? He's another fat-cat associated with the Koch brothers and pretending to relate with working Americans. He's so out of touch he has to coached to show some level of empathy with people who worry about their bills. Just another Republican elitist – with "magic underwear!"..

It will be nice to see how much he makes while trying to relate to ordinary Americans. Oh, by the way Ann Romney, I'm a mom too. When my daughter was young I made a choice too. I could go on welfare and be a stay at home mom or work and take care of us. We can't all marry meal tickets, you know, so I worked.

slick mitt, now you can wait until Oct 15 to file. (three wreks before election) That way you can avoid revealing how much lower your effevtive tax rate is compared to " the little people " aka the 99%.
