Nugent threatens death if Obama wins in November

(CNN) – Rocker Ted Nugent did little to quell his reputation as a conservative firebrand through comments at the National Rifle Association convention when he took aim (pun intended) at high profile members of the Barack Obama administration and voiced support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

The Romney-backer, musician, activist, NRA board member and tea party figure encouraged an NRA audience over the weekend to help oust the current administration.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."

He accused the government of "wiping its ass with the Constitution you're living under a rock some place" and labeled members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state "criminals."

"We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Am I, any questions?" Nugent said.

This is not the first time Nugent has vividly espoused his views. In fact, the NRA has a section of its website devoted to some of his statements, including profanity-laced comments and threats directed at then candidates Obama and Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle.

Responding to the comments from Nugent, who announced his support for the former Massachusetts governor in March, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from."

"Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," she added.

Saul's reaction followed a call from Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to denounce the remarks. Wasserman Schultz sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday to solicit donations off the comments she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."

"Romney's surrogates should know better than to rally the troops with outrageous rhetoric that is unacceptable in our political debate," the Florida representative said in a statement. "Mitt Romney must condemn Nugent's violent and hateful rhetoric immediately, as it has no place in our political discourse or this campaign."

It is time to take this clown in and put him in a straight jacket before he kills someone. If someone raged like that while Bush was in office they would have been in one of the secret prisons overseas in a heartbeat. But this should be a wake up call to all moderates and independents and Democrats who are still thinking about voting in November. Nugent is what today's right wing GOP looks like and the only way to address them is to make sure they all get voted out in November.

Nugent's comments are offensive and represents the face of the GOP, very scary. I need to get my checkbook out to make sure the President is reelected.

So Mr. Nugent expects to either be dead or in jail if President Obama is re-elected. Personally, it makes no difference to me which happens.

    Nugent is adorable.

    He's like a conservative Rosie O'Donell.

Basically all you have to do is look at the picture to realize he's a nutjob. Some Americans are just plain dumb and I frankly can't understand why people are so stupid sometimes. He has no evidence to backup what he is saying, he is just letting stuff spew out of his mouth. And what's worse, people believe him! In the video, someone yell communism. I bet he doesn't even know the core meaning of that word. He just heard that communism was bad from his pa, when he was a child "back in te ole' days when tings was simple, and you didn't haf ta worry about oter people and the rest of the world."

To those who suggest President O`Bama is such a complete failure and the "worst President ever", please explain the chart available on CNN's Money website. Please set the Dow Jones Industrial Average timeline to 3 years, his term to date as President. What do you see? It is noone's opinion, assumption or estimate, it is the Dow Jones Industrial Average UP 62.33% since President O`Bama was elected as of 2:15pm central time today.

This is why some kind of mental test passed before you can walk off the street and buy high powered guns. Nut's should not be able unlimited access to guns.

Ted – you won't be missed. This is going to be a very anticipated election day, Obama reelected and Ted dead. Woo hoo.

Interesting how the GOP get all fired up when one commentator criticizes a stay at home mom (who had help from maids and nannies) but does nothing to quell this nutjob when he hurls his vehement insults. And this not the first time.

That isn't what Ted meant at all. He said that if Obama started trying to confiscate our guns many of us would die resisting.

There are two types of criminals in the Republican Party: there are the Ted Nugent cowboy criminals who really do want to kill the people they disagree with; and there are the corporate criminals like Dick Cheney and the Koch Brothers, who use the cowboy criminal issues (gays, guns, and god) to scare people into voting against their own interests and instead for the corporate criminal interests. Reasonable people aren't going to convince either group of these criminals to do the right things. So, it is important to keep educating as many folks as possible about their real interests and what is right. If Mitt Romney is elected, he will be beholden to both of these groups of criminals. (In fact, he is essentially a card-carrying member of the corporate criminals.) It's funny (not really) how we seem to be heading for a re-run of the 2000 election – and we know how that turned out. Don't mourn, organize.

Hehe...I guess he'll either be dead or in jail then come November cuz Romney is doomed. A pity too about Nugent's coming demise/incarceration cuz I sure do like Cat Scratch Fever.

Nugent is a complete egocentric idiot. Let's hope that Obama gets reelected, and that Ted Nugent IS dead within a year. That will be one step in the right direction.

I keep seeing on here about how Romney needs to respond to his rhetoric. Was I the only one who read that he did by issuing a statement through his spokeswoman? Or did you liberals not bother to READ what is directly in front of your faces??? How dare you throw stones when conservatives, Republicans, and the Tea Party have been bashed time and time again without any repercussions. I also think that what Nugent said was vile and I don't agree with him at all, but then again, I'm not a giant HYPOCRITE like the rest of you! Why don't you look in the mirror and see the reflection of your own party who does NOTHING when the right gets bashed except turn a blind eye? You all make me SICK.

It never ceases to amaze me the party of no, the party of racist, the party of big tax breaks for the people who need it the least of all, are alway calling the other side the haters. This is the party of the likes of Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner Eric Cantor. These are the biggest haters of them all.

I'm still waiting for Alec Balwin to move to France. He said he'd move there if Bush Jr. won in 2004. As far as I know, he still lives in the US, so expect Nugent to be alive and well a year from now, much to the chagrin of the Liberal base that blindly salivates over Obama.

Ted, Why don't you save us from any more of your BS and shoot yourself now. You can go to repub heaven. We fought a war against the Nazi's 70 years ago and now they are back and calling themselves republicans. This time the war will be here. Nazi-republicans are the worst domestic threat this country has seen since the Civil War. If people in this country don't wake up soon everything good about this country will be gone. These people will destroy democracy and take away all the rights they don't think we need.

Truth, baby! Glad to see you can cut and paste today, otherwise you would have no coherent structure to your rants at all.!! Tell us, now, what do you think of Wango Tango's death threat and hints of revolution? I'm sure you will say he's been pushed there, so, please, let us hear your "thoughts" today.
