(CNN) – Rocker Ted Nugent did little to quell his reputation as a conservative firebrand through comments at the National Rifle Association convention when he took aim (pun intended) at high profile members of the Barack Obama administration and voiced support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
The Romney-backer, musician, activist, NRA board member and tea party figure encouraged an NRA audience over the weekend to help oust the current administration.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."
He accused the government of "wiping its ass with the Constitution you're living under a rock some place" and labeled members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state "criminals."
"We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Am I, any questions?" Nugent said.
This is not the first time Nugent has vividly espoused his views. In fact, the NRA has a section of its website devoted to some of his statements, including profanity-laced comments and threats directed at then candidates Obama and Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle.
Responding to the comments from Nugent, who announced his support for the former Massachusetts governor in March, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from."
"Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," she added.
Saul's reaction followed a call from Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to denounce the remarks. Wasserman Schultz sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday to solicit donations off the comments she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."
"Romney's surrogates should know better than to rally the troops with outrageous rhetoric that is unacceptable in our political debate," the Florida representative said in a statement. "Mitt Romney must condemn Nugent's violent and hateful rhetoric immediately, as it has no place in our political discourse or this campaign."

Go ahead Ted....wow when you are finally shut up at last the world will be a much more peaceful place to live.
"You've been spewing venom for way too long and most normal people are tired of your garbage."
And when Ted isn't spewing venom, he's spewing moron.
I don't wish death or incarceration on Anyone but if those are the only two options he give me, then I hope Ted goes to prison!
BTW, Debbie- My check is in the mail :)
Was this before or after playing wang dang sweet p o o n tang?
Ted has been cooking meth in the trailer and using it.
"Chopping their heads off" sounds like a threat. Threatening federal officials is a violation of federal law. That should put Nugent in jail this year. He would not need to wait for the election.
Ted dead – no great loss. He made some good music years ago
I'm Libertarian, but I may just vote for Obama just so I can read about Ted Nugent putting a gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger. His music was lousy, his songwriting worse, and the world would be a better place without him.
I think there's a mental disease manifesting itself more and more in Ted Nugent. He seems to be threatening the President with his statement because he said "...or in jail." You could infer that he's going to try to kill the President and die trying or get caught and thrown in jail. Stranger things have happened. I don't think he'll be getting any White House invites to perform Wango Tango.
During Romney’s term he signed several pieces of firearms regulation. A look at that regulation does not reveal an anti-gun Romney. Those bills are characterized as “net gains” for gun owners in a state where opinioned is weighed against them.
During his tenure, Gov. Romney was credited with several improvements to state laws, including protections for shooting clubs, restoration of the Inland Fish and Game Fund, and requirements that all new hunters pass a hunter safety course. He is also credited with relaxing manufacturing testing for some models of pistols.
In 2004, Gov. Romney signed a firearms reform bill that made permanent the ban on assault weapons as well as clarified and insured other rights and responsibilities for gun owners. It was a hard-fought compromise between interest groups on both sides of the issue. The NRA Gun Owners’ Action League, law enforcement, and Massachusetts gun owners endorsed the bill.
Can he be dead please? Is that a promise?
Guess I'm missing all the right wing Rosen denouncers now... LOL.
She was right, but Ted is not. Where are all the hates now... man... speak a little truth about someone not works and you get beat up by the right (and left), but rally the faithful with death threats and no-one makes a peep!! Come on right wingnuts.. cat (pun intended) got your tongue???
He'll be in jail for threatening the president's life and publicly advocating armed insurrection (the H. Rap Brown Injunction).
What I want to know is what Charlie daniels thinks of all this – his homespun wisdom and manly beard will determine how I feel about what the Nuge said – Imagine those two at the Algonquin Room with Dorothy Parker, HL Mencken and Robert Benchley – I'm sure ol CD and The Nooge would have all them pointy headed nabobs of negativism spinning in their seats
Ted Nugent is an idiot
I wasn't going to vote for 0bama again, but this is almost reason enough!
I am just happy to hear that he will be in jail or dead at this time next year. A real powerhouse who takes "moron" to the next level.
Ted Nugent. Just another bigot throwing a RACIST fit.
Ted Nugent is a coward,.. draft dodger,.. yet he talks a big story, hiding behind the NRA.. This lunatic needs to be rounded up, and thrown in jail. Useles POS.
Extremist just like Adolf Hitler, Karl Marx and the Terrorist of 911...And these idiots had followers Too!
I am sure if asked Romney would say "I wouldn't have worded it like that"
Ted is right, again!
I believe Ted Nugent has crossed the line, so now let's see what the FBI and Secret Service has to say about his open threats.
Who cares, Ted Nugent hasn't been relevant for decades.
