Nugent threatens death if Obama wins in November

(CNN) – Rocker Ted Nugent did little to quell his reputation as a conservative firebrand through comments at the National Rifle Association convention when he took aim (pun intended) at high profile members of the Barack Obama administration and voiced support for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

The Romney-backer, musician, activist, NRA board member and tea party figure encouraged an NRA audience over the weekend to help oust the current administration.

"If Barack Obama becomes the president in November again, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year," Nugent said, according to a video posted on YouTube by the NRA. "If you can't go home and get everybody in your lives to clean house in this vile, evil America hated administration, I don't even know what you're made out of."

He accused the government of "wiping its ass with the Constitution you're living under a rock some place" and labeled members of the Obama administration, including the vice president, attorney general and secretary of state "criminals."

"We need to ride into that battlefield and chop their heads off in November. Am I, any questions?" Nugent said.

This is not the first time Nugent has vividly espoused his views. In fact, the NRA has a section of its website devoted to some of his statements, including profanity-laced comments and threats directed at then candidates Obama and Hillary Clinton during the last election cycle.

Responding to the comments from Nugent, who announced his support for the former Massachusetts governor in March, Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said "Divisive language is offensive no matter what side of the political aisle it comes from."

"Mitt Romney believes everyone needs to be civil," she added.

Saul's reaction followed a call from Democratic National Committee Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to denounce the remarks. Wasserman Schultz sent out an email to supporters on Tuesday to solicit donations off the comments she called "despicable, deplorable and completely beyond the pale."

"Romney's surrogates should know better than to rally the troops with outrageous rhetoric that is unacceptable in our political debate," the Florida representative said in a statement. "Mitt Romney must condemn Nugent's violent and hateful rhetoric immediately, as it has no place in our political discourse or this campaign."

Someone's looking for life in prison. He just gave a death threat to target the president of the united states.

Just your regular republican, wrapping himself in the American flag and patriotism (and praying nobody reveals his past that includes adulterery, draft dodging) :)

It is obvious that Ted is expiring to die or go to jail to prevent President Obama from getting reelected which means he is for committing a violent crime to prevent the President from getting reelected.

    Dear Ted,
Your views suck, your tone sucks and you suck. The only thing that does not suck about you is your music. Please go back to that and if there ain't a tune coming out of it keep your pie-hole shut. Unless of course you were just saying that at the request of the Romney campaign so he could call you on it, and look so "moderate" in the process then you are smarter than you look. That does not keep you from sucking, it just explains you better.

How many times can someone threaten the lives of the POTUS, staff etc before steps are taken to stop them? This isn't Nugent's first second or third time. Why is he allowed to make the republican party look like violent freaks?

I just listened to this on MSNBC and found it to be within the rights of free speech. Nugent's reference to "chop their heads off come next November" is clearly a reference to the up coming election. If we can show a movie in this country about the assassination of President George W. Bush while he is the sitting US President, Ted's rant is mere child's play. This administration and it's supporters have alway been hyper-sensitive to criticizm. It's interesting that over on MSNBC it was mentioned that the Secret Service is looking into Nugent. That is a can of worms that this admisnistration may not want to step into.

Once again an obscure story denigrating Republicans. No stories yet in the liberally biased mainstream media about Debbie Wasserman Schultz shrilly calling for Romney to make public his tax return when refusing to release her own for years, about the incompetent, inept, corrupt, union toady president getting the Maldives Islands mixed up with the Falklands (would have been a story for days on the Political Ticker if Herman Cain had done it) or the stupid things Joe Biden says and does. Romney sure is right about the liberally biased media supporting the corrupt administration.

President Obama's single largest contributor - Bill Maher - disgusting vulgar language thrown at women - just GOP women though - And Obama & Wasserman applaud him and gladly take his $$$$ for their dirty tricks. Obama and Wasserman have two sides - both really BAD – hypocricy – racism – bigotry – vulgarity – class warfare – religious warfare – racial warfare –these are the trademarkes of the Obama campaign strategy - and all the while, our country is heading towards a Greek Tragedy of epic proportions

    "Max Lowe

This election is going to be the biggest decision for our country in many generations. WE can not allow the tea crazies to turn this country into a war zone like Ted encourages. The GOP created the tea party, alienating many centrist Republicans and are now so embedded with the NRA and People LIke Ted that they need to be voted out of office and a new centrist party should take it's place."

How can you make a threat to the president of the United States and still walk the streets. If someone made that same comment about another President they would have been arrested. Nugent if something happens to President Obama you better watch your back!!

Nugent's mistake was not in pointing out that Obama and his surrogates are America Hating Criminals – that much is true. He went wrong by giving the Marxists ammunition when he spoke of violence. Now, at some point, violence – as with our founders – could become necessary to preserve our rights but that time is not quite yet. Free people, "citizens", however, need to be aware of their obligation to protect and preserve our country from enemies within or without.

Guess we have the cut & paste of the day.

Nugent is a coward, a liar and a pedofile. The only thing that the NRA cares about is that he's a NAME.

Those of you "conservatives" on the far right (Rush, Beck, Hannity, Romney and ALL Republicans in office, et al) who do not condemn this sort of rhetoric are either cowards or just pure racist. You rage against mild comments made by any Liberal ("Ann Romney never worked a day in her life"), but your righteous indignation disappears when one of your own spews treasonous, hateful comments. Republicans are such hypocrites. I don't know how you can stand yourselves.

Ted Nugent has always been 1) a mediocre musician, and 2) a self-serving loudmouth. While I agreed with some comments he made earlier in his career supporting gun rights and exposing the hypocrisy of people who consume animal products but seem to be repulsed by hunting, this time he has simply gone too far. He is clearly pandering to the lowest common denominator among the anti-Obama crowd, and his rhetoric is unconscionable and downright stupid. I used to think he was an interesting, if somewhat egotistical, "counter-balance" to the liberl-heavy world of popular music; now i just think he's an idiot.
