Sen. Kyl endorses Romney

(CNN) - Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl threw his support behind Mitt Romney, the candidate's campaign announced Friday.

"After a long primary, it is time for the Republican Party to come together and support the candidate who will defeat President Obama. That is why I am proud to support Mitt Romney," the Arizona senator said in a statement.

Kyl pointed to Romney's economic plan, drawing a sharp contrast to what he called President Barack Obama's "broken promises and failed policies."

"These next months will be hard fought and change will not come easy, but I am proud to stand with Mitt and to do anything I can to make sure he is our next president," the senator said.

Kyl joins other Congressional leaders who endorsed Romney earlier this week, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker John Boehner.

The third-term senator announced last year he will not run for re-election in the Grand Canyon State.

These endorsements are a carefully timed and choreographed messaging campaign designed to keep Mitt Romney's name in the news, cast in a positive light.

Just watch. Even though it's a Friday, you can expect one more endorsement before the day is up. Normally, you want to bury bad news by releasing it late on a Friday. But, this rollout has been "endorsed" by a new top dog every 4-6 hours every day this week. Another one would give it lasting momentum over the weekend.

    Mitt Romney = Paul Ryan

True – that's all he has, the entire scope of his campaign...the Paul Ryan plan.

Seniors, if you elect Romney, you are voting to do away with your medicare.

GOP is promoting class warfare. They are continuing their campaign on the war on women. Obama has a 15% lead among women. More women vote than men. He has a 70% lead among Hispanics. Obama will win in November in a landslide just like he did against McCain. McCain lost the women vote by 12% last time. Look what happened to him. Perhaps you should start looking at the numbers more closely and quit hyping the race up it is not close. Women have already decided the election....

This man is largely responsible for the overt obstructionism of the Republicans to block our economic recovery. He falls into the category of Karl Rove, Tom DeLay, Mitch McConnel, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and "Mr. Crappy-pants" Ted Nugent – the domestic terrorist/draft dodger. They really do represent the "values" of the neo-conservative movement.

Truth is Medicare is doing itself away baed on the numbers. The problem is Obama and the Democrats can't do simple math and refuse to offer any solutions because they know the choices are not good. They want to just let it bankrupt the country.

The Republicans are the ONLY ones putting forward viable solutions. The are the ONLY ones doing their jobs. They are the ONLY ones worth voting for.

This is the message today. The message in November will be even simpler. Accountability. This administration has lost on some huge bets and not delivered on promises. Besides the large amounts of money, the amount of time we have invested in these programs is important. So Republicans and Independents need to rally around Romney and hold this administration accountable for those bold, misguided decisions of 2009 and 2010.

@The Real Truth? – Wrong. Republicans have zero problem in nixing much needed programs for those that need it the most, seniors, while at the same time they plan to ramp up defense spending in a major way with the proceeds of freed up $ from discontinued programs like medicare. It's all about priorities... and the Republicans' priorities are not with the people.

  13. Wake up people

Not one person that has endorsed Mittens has said he would be better as POTUS. The only thing any of them say is he is best to defeat Barack Obama. What I would like to know is this.... If President Obama of is as bad as the rethugs paint him to be wouldn't any old candidate do? I mean if he has done as much damage as the lies they have told on him couldn't anyone beat him?? Why have they spent millions trying to make him a one-term POTUS? If he is as bad as they say, anyone including Wailin Palin and the Newtster would do wouldn't they? That is the question people should be asking themselves.

    OBAMA 2012!
Or we're all screwed who aren't wealthy.

"the candidate who will defeat President Obama."

Well, we know all about how accurate he is with factual statements.

    "not delivered on promises. "

Because the GOP/Teatrolls blocked almost everything. You realize how ignorant, cynical and self-serving you sound making that argument, right? Which means it's only going to get bought and intenalized by the already existing true believers in the GOP/Teatroll base, not win you more voters. Have fun with that.

What? Are you talking about a president trying to put policies through that the GOP has been FILIBUSTERING (record number of times) just to make the administrating look bad. Not all of America is fooled by your rhetoric. 9 % approval rating for this 2010 elected Republican congress proves it all. BESIDES, WHAT PROMISES ARE YOU REPUBLICAN SUPPORTERS CLAIM HE DIDN'T DELIVER? HE DID NOT CAMPAIGN ON PROMISES THAT DIDN'T WIN YOUR VOTE IN 2008.
SO WHY DO YOU CARE ABOUT HIS PROMISES. IT SEEMS TO ME YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY HE DIDN'T DELIVER ON THEM AS YOU CLAIM BECAUSE YOU FEEL THEY ARE SOCIALIST VIEWS ANYWAY.

A pro-GOP independent super PAC co-founded by Karl Rove says it has raised nearly $100 million so far this campaign cycle.

An official for American Crossroads confirms to CNN that the super PAC and its nonprofit affiliate Crossroads GPS combined brought in $99.8 million since the start of 2011, with $49 million of the haul raised just in the past three months.

Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl should be ashamed ! People are hurting !

I just remember Kyl standing side by side with GW Bush . Now he is standing alongside Latter Day Bush , " Romney ".

More of the same , bring back the Insanity 2012.

I've listened to this strange man rant and rave on for months and I find him to be a big joke!! To answer his lunacy, I'd like to ask him just what he and his party have done in the last four years to diminish the mess our president inherited and to make this country better for everyone not just the wealthy.NOTHING!!!Nothing but "Nos" ,put downs, complaints,. I think it's about time that politicians had a pay cut and maybe be refused some of their health care plans need to be reviewed. They sit there saying "no" while collecting a big salary that they don't even really work for. As a citizen with family that is hurting, I've had it with these elected "Free loaders" Why don't they get a REAL job????

    Obama/ Biden had 70 million votes to McCain/ Palin's 60 million. 7 to 6. A landslide? Really?!?!
What about the 2010 elections where Republicans won 24 to 13 in the Senate and 242 to 193 in the House? By your definition this was a magnificent landslide for the Republicans. I can't wait to give you the 2012 numbers. They will be even more fun. For Republicans.

The word is hubris. H.U.B.R.I.S. It is a prerequisite for membership in the GOP/Teatroll congressional caucuses.

@The Real Truth and Nothing But the Real Truth
"Truth is Medicare is doing itself away baed on the numbers."
    ------------------------------------------------------------
You have never been restricted to the truth. Medical care of all kinds is going up at 7-9% annually – which means all medical insurance will be too costly unless the pool of insured includes everybody and the prices for services go down. That's the math behind Romneycare/Obamacare. Republicans fight the concepts of "best practice' medicine, preventive medicine, and affordable universal health care. The "free-market" can't regulate commodities that determine life and death of the consumer – unless you believe corporations will "do the right thing" rather than choose profits. Medicare will be fixed when the path to decent healthcare is cleared of right-wingers too stupid to do the math or too greedy to accept the truth.
