Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama announced Monday that he has signed an executive order allowing new sanctions against companies that enable Syria and Iran to use technology such as cell phone monitoring to carry out human rights abuses.
The order is part of a broader strategy intended to strengthen the administration's ability to prevent atrocities, including creation of an Atrocities Prevention Board, Obama said in somber remarks at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day.
A little hypocritical for Obama to denounce companies that allow spying while he signs NDAA, continues to support the patriot act, and pushes us closer and closer to a police state.
Bush already pushed. I think we need strict immigration to all nations including India.
We also must prevent the Republican party from doing the same.
obama need to take his optimistic jobs tour on the road. he need to modernize our country, allow americans to see cranes and construction workers in their town, this will bring on optimism that the country is getting out of our slump, and promp them to spend. weve got learn from our past and see that traditional ways of thinking is a barrier to human rights and progress, pragmatism is the way. weve got to learn how today modernize world work and how to manipulated our injeunity to combat problems. the traditional old ways does not work. traditional ways usually bring on recentment and suspicions. lets not go back to experience our traditional ways of thinking, because some of it isnt pleasant.
An "Atrocities Prevention Board"??? Seriously Obama?! Is there ANYTHING on the planet that you don't think the answer to is another government agency to spend our tax dollars? Let the all powerful and omnipotent UN deal with it. This country needs to stop trying to save the world while our ship is sinking under $16 TRILLION in debt.
