(CNN) - A top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs committee was asked by the Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense not to go to Afghanistan because President Hamid Karzai objected to the visit.
U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-California, told Security Clearance he was readying to travel with five other Republicans from Dubai to Afghanistan's capital, Kabul, when the State Department requested he stay behind.
See, even outside the US nobody wants the GOP crowd.
keep Bachmann there.....please
What i would like 2 know is y these popus arrogant congressmen always feel the need 2 push their way around n forgien lands. U know damn gd and well they dont represent the administration. Know wonder these countries get so confussed when we just allow and tom dick or harry 2 parade around. Stay the bleep hm and do the work we pay u 2 do!
I actually applaud him for agreeing not to go. Less sane members of his party would probably make a big deal over this and insist on going. Not a fan, but Rohrabacher deserves props on this (unless he tries to spin this politically later).
U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-California such gather the other congressmen into stopping all monetary support to Afghanistan. Why should we have to borrow money from China to continue funding a war that continues to put our economy into further destruction. Hasn't the current president done enough financial damage to the OUR country already.
So where's the outrage? All these senators and congressmen and wannabees travel in packs all over the world, on our tax dollars, to do who-knows-what. Yet the president takes a weekend with his family and everyone has a hissy fit?
They need to stay at home and let the Department of Defense fight the war. This inept Congress can't be trusted to do anything without turning it into a political opportunity. Our Service-members don't need their lives endangered by actions from the useless fools in the U.S. Congress. They consistently fail at the single-most important of their responsibilities – delivering a reasonable and sustainable federal budget. Why would we trust them with the war?
