(CNN) – Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida will deliver what his staff bills a "major speech on the future of U.S. foreign policy" this week, the senator's office announced Monday.
Rubio, considered to be a top vice presidential pick for likely GOP nominee Mitt Romney, is set to speak Wednesday at The Brookings Institution, a left-leaning think tank in Washington, D.C.

His remarks will focus on "whether U.S. global leadership is sustainable and even necessary in the 21st Century," his staff said in a statement, without releasing further details.
While Rubio has consistently beat back the increasing "veep" chatter, the upcoming speech marks another high-profile move for the junior senator, who's also drafting major immigration legislation and getting ready to release a memoir this summer.
Rubio appeared on the campaign trail for the first time with Romney on Monday, participating in a press conference with the candidate and taking the stage for a town hall in Aston, Pennsylvania.

Another do-nothing GOP senator. Over his 3 years in office, Rubio hasn't done anything to improve the economy, create jobs they promised when elected. Rubio, the same person who didn't know the history of his parents coming to the U.S. from Cuba, now is qualified to talk on foreign affairs. But then again I guess this is suppose to represent how much he cares about the Latino problems in this country. You've got to be joking me.
Rubio has no education or experience in foreign policy and, like all those chicken-hawks, never served in the military. He has spent a year on the foreign relations committee doing........uhm, what has he been doing? What is the fascination the Right has with this guy?
