President Obama tries to shore up youth vote

Boulder, Colorado (CNN) – President Obama kicked off a tour of three battleground states today with a speech at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This two-day college blitz is, on it's face, about pressing Congress to prevent interest rates on federally subsidized student loans from doubling this summer. In political reality, the president's latest excursion from Washington is all about energizing part of his base – youth voters – in an election year.

"For each year that Congress doesn't act, the average student with these loans will rack up an additional $1,000 in debt – an extra $1,000," President Obama told a supportive crowd of mainly students at UNC Chapel Hill. "That's basically a tax hike for more than 7 million students across America, more than 160,000 students here in North Carolina alone."

hey the youth of today knows that it will takes some help from this government to help them out. they know that big business priority is else where and making money, they have no time or man power to waste on americans, when theyve got computer systems, robots and foreigner working in their business. students coming out of college need the government to help them with their inventions and their enovative ideas. big businesses doesnt hire folks, that store down the street does, that small business around the corder do. we need to support our small businesses which hires 75 percent of americans, and cannot run to china any time things get rough.

good for him. they can see that republican politicians only support the wealthy and big business. hopefully they will help keep a republican out of the white house but also help get rid of republican politicians in both congress and senate.

Truthy, the student loan forgiveness was if the students gave some of their time in Peace Corp or government service.
Regardless, any loan is due and payable by everyone, there are no freebies dingbat.

Todays college graduates are unemployed because they do 4 years of school and then think any job paying under 75k a year is beneath them. I am 26 years old working on my associates degree and I made 60 grand last year because i bust my back instead of waiting for a handout. But then again i didnt have 4 years of leftist academia indoctrination.
