Gingrich to end White House bid

Washington (CNN) – Newt Gingrich will officially end his bid for the Republican presidential nomination and formally express his support for Mitt Romney next week, two sources close to Gingrich tell CNN.

While details are still being worked out, Gingrich is likely to hold his final campaign event Tuesday in Washington, DC where he will make the announcement surrounded by his family and supporters.

It is not surprising that Gingrich is suspending his campaign for the White House as he has all but acknowledged it is winding down and Romney is the presumptive GOP nominee.

"When he says he is transitioning, what he means is that he is trying to determine as a citizen how he will pro-actively help Mitt Romney become president and the Republican Party win back the Senate and help (House Speaker) John Boehner keep his majority in the House," said one of the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

It appears that Gingrich's focus will be much broader than the presidential campaign, as the former speaker, who made his name and career in the House, plans to be actively involved in helping the GOP take back control of both sides of Capitol Hill.

"It is not enough to beat Barack Obama, we also have to help the Republican Party keep the majority in the House and win back the majority in the Senate," the source said.

The decision to hold the event next week was due to logistical reasons, the sources said.

So does this mean we are not going to the moon Mommy? So does this mean Kalita does not have to begin measuring for the White House drapes Mommy? So does this mean that all the talk about his campaign going all the way up to convention in Tampa was all a lie Mommy?

Mommy: Yes, son, it means all of that and more. Now run along and go outside and play.

    Yes Mommy.

All of these comments are what really sicken me. Of course he wasn't even a hopeful, none of them are... but we can't get a good leader in the polls because they all have skeletons in the closet. All we get are 'politicians' who can talk... but we haven't had one who can act in a while. I hate to pinch my nose and vote socialist but it looks like I won't have much of a choice. Actually, there is Ron Paul... and he's got more sense than the entire GOP and Obama Administration combined... too bad the people don't see him as a Leader

Can we please stop covering him? This clown is a deranged distraction and an embarrassment. I don't like using a cliche, but he really is a legend in his own mind, perhaps he can buy his plastic wife a new baubles or something, but please make him go away. The only person that was more embarrassing to the GOP was Herman Caine.

Gingrich was the smartest of all candidates in the Republican race. Unfortunately, it is no longer about that. It's about beating Barry Obama and getting him out of the White House, and that is a goal worth supporting. I would vote for anyone but Obama. Charlie Sheen, Daffy Duck, it doesn't matter. What matters is getting the Apologizer in Chief out of the White House. Romney is just fine by me....

God he's gross. The worst thing about Newt is his whole "sanctity of marriage" nonsense, even though he has cheated on and divorced all of his thousands of wives. It's sickening that a person can be so delusional, selfish, hypocritical and bigoted.

Congratulations to Presidential Aspirant Mitt "Etch-a-Sketch" Romney for finally being able to persuade Newt "Moon Colony / Don Quixote" Gingrich to step aside. Now the next question is why Mr. Rick Santorum only "suspended" his campaign. Anyway, congratulations ahead of time to President Obama on his second term.

Yes, it's going to take him a week to figure out how to take back 70% of the things he said about Mitt!
We're going to dominate this fall– it'll look like the Tea Party Patriots vs. the New England Patriots.
