"We've had a hard fought battle already to choose a candidate. Being personally involved in the endorsement process was an honor for me. And I want to thank everyone involved in the campaigns, from the candidates, the delegates, the volunteers, all of us can be proud of our efforts," Bachmann said in a statement Thursday ahead of her appearance with Romney.
The Minnesota congresswoman has repeatedly said in recent weeks it was only a matter of time before she would officially back Romney.
As a candidate, Bachmann initially ran with large tea party appeal, frequently bucking what she described as the more establishment faction of the party that Romney represented.
Her endorsement comes weeks after former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum dropped out of the race, a move that essentially locked up the nomination for Romney.
Asked repeatedly why she was holding out in her support for Romney, Bachmann would not go into specifics but said she was working "behind the scenes, bringing together all factions of our party."
"As the line says in the 'Wizard of Oz,' 'All in good time, my pretty,'" Bachmann said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer" last week. "It will happen."
National Review first reported the news of Bachmann's upcoming endorsement.
– CNN's Peter Hamby and Ashley Killough contributed to this report.

Did you hear Mitt,"No Michelle, endorse Obama, Please, Please don't do this to me!!!"
It is good to see the team starting to pull together for and with Romney. All of the team will be on board for the big win in November.
Romney 2012 - Experience, Competence and Proven Success. (sure beats 4 more years of Obama failure)
All the more reason NOT to vote for Romney!!!
More endorsements from the crazy side of the plate. Mr. Romney- these do not add to your credibility.
Who is left for Michele to endorse? By process of elimination, the right wingnuts can choose either personhood Mittens or Ron Paul. While Mittens makes Paul look acceptable, Mittens has a billion dollars from the Kochs, Rove and other billionaires money to throw away.
Bachmann was quoted as saying "I looked around and realized that no one else was still running, er, better qualified to be the GOP nominee than Romney."
I am sure Romney Robot is just thrilled about that..... Endorsed by – Space Cadet Bachmann.
Don't you have enough problems Mittens, without parading this loser around? Let's see, the president has one of the most popular ex-presidents on the stump for him. And you have the de facto leader of the troubled and tortured band of malcontents known as the Tea Bag party. Hmmm. You really need some new advisors.
OMG the kiss of death, sorry Mittens you are finished!!!! hahahahahahahahaha
Yay!! Hallelujah – Amen! - Big Deal
OBAMA 2012!
Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn't even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas." -Rep. Michelle Bachmann, April, 2009

My what a fine, fine human being you are Mittster.
So the Republicans are going to settle on an east coast, elite, millionaire from an aristocratic family? What is his experience that will make him a successful Conservative President?
1. He fires people, lays off employees, and outsources jobs while pocketing the pension funds of those same employees.
2. He is comfortable in an upper class setting. After all, America IS the upper class, isn't it? The little people, like you and I, are not really very important. People of Romney's class and background see us as livestock that can understand English.
3. He does not care if Americans suffer. He has made lots of them suffer so far in his life. He's made of tough stuff. No weepy compassion will ever cloud his judgment.
4. He knows how to destroy corporations and sell off their assets. He could use those skills to destroy the federal government, a stated goal of Conservatism
5. After the Romney Administration is over in 2016 or 2018, Conservatives will say, "Hey, you can't blame us for the disastrous Romney Administration. He wasn't a TRUE Conservative. What we need is a TRUE Conservative like Ron Paul or Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum … or maybe Senator Palin."
hey, Bachmann would make a great VP repub candidate. lol Almost as good a Palin
You go mitt you go get the most hateful washed up Republican endorsements you can. While your at it how about digging up Hitler,Joe Macarthy,George Wallace and Lester Maddox.
This woman doesn't work in the job she was appointed to do, she's too busy running around looking for another job.
Wow. I was expecting more liberal hate on here. I must be the first person to post.
Anyway, Romney will be an awesome president. Obama has now released 3 negative ads that have more to do with his distorted reality that reality. Why the negative ads, because Obama has almost nothing to show for 4 years and $6T in additional government debt.
An endorsement from Bachmann...that is something I wont take for FREE.
This lady just wants to be relevant by any means. Too bad, GOP has fallen so bad that the likes of Bachmann now matter!
Great stuff. And Mitt, when elected, should make her Secretary of Health and Human Services. And with the same stroke of the pen, make Sarah Palin Secretary of Energy. Now these two would clean those agencies up. It would be fun to watch.
Romney would be better served by saying "Thanks..........but NO thanks!!" He sure doesn't need the whacko fring this clown brought to the table.
Nope. She's still not relevant.
All ex-GOP hopefuls (other than Paul) will end up backing Romney. They all called him the worst possible candidate to put up against Obama; Santorum called him the "worst Republican in the nation" to challenge Obama given Romney's history regarding the individual mandate. Now they all change their tune. Get in line, hold your nose and shut it. Not me. No Ron Paul supporter–people who truly believe in limited government, fidelity to the Constitution, a free-market economy and a strong national defense–will ever back RObamaney. And for that reason, Romney will lose. We would rather have 4 more years of Obama than 8 years of who-knows-what, the guy changes his mind so often. He will move center-left, as most candidates do. Good luck backing the guy who lost to the guy who lost to Obama. Wake up! Ron Paul has won a plurality of delegates from 6 states. His rallies draw tens of thousands of people. Romney wishes he had that kind of support. He doesn't. He never will. It's not too late. If everyone in the GOP got behind Paul, we would beat Obama. Ron Paul leads Obama in every national poll match up. The same cannot be said for Romney. Obama's disaffected '08 supporters (i.e., the HUGE independent block) like a lot of what Paul stands for...so should you. Get behind the true conservative who has never flipped flopped. Let's focus on the elephant in the room–the deficit and entitlements–rather than the fly on the wall–the weak dictator whom Israel could wipe off the map with a phone call.
Flippy adds ANOTHER counterproductive (at least to his campaign) endorsement.....Next up........?
Hummm.
I will be writing Ron Paul in.
Nothing like waiting until the race is virtually over to endorse the winner... not that Romney actually wants Bachmann's endorsement.
