Video: Pawlenty defends Romney over Obama video

(CNN) - Former presidential candidate and current Mitt Romney backer Tim Pawlenty responded to a campaign video released Wednesday by President Barack Obama's re-election campaign that used Newt Gingrich comments criticizing Romney to make their general election case.

"Of course the president is trying to distract Americans and voters from his own record, which is non-existent or bad and trying to get people focused on some old comments by Newt Gingrich," Pawlenty, the former Minnesota governor, said on CNN's "Starting Point with Soledad O'Brien." "I think shortly Newt will be supporting and endorsing and encouraging Gov. Romney because he's a far better candidate and will be a far better president than President Obama."

Gingrich is scheduled to suspend his presidential campaign and signal his support for Romney, the presumptive Republican presidential nomine, Wednesday afternoon.

Non-existent record? Hey, T-Paw. Your fearless leader criticizes Pres. Obama's record al the time. In fact, the entire Republican Party is always saying, "Obama cannot run on his record of failure," and other unsubstantive phrases.

However, it seems to me like the only person trying to distract voters from a non-existent record is Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney's record is vanishingly small. During a debage last fall, Mitt Romney claimed to have "created 100,000 jobs while at Bain." When later asked for details, he abstained. His most recent ad claims "thousands of jobs". The Obama administration has seen millions of new private sector jobs.

Obama and his campaign has to distract; they will try to make the election about character and being likeable rather than being a referendum on the Obama record of FAILURE.

Only 189 days left before Nov. 6, to focus on Solyndras, prostitution scandals, GSA parties, $5 trillion plus in new national debt, no federal budget for three years, depression level unemployment, sluggish growth and corruption like no other administration in history.

sorry Tim but that's not what Newter thought earlier. The quotes are accurate and cannot be refudiated no matter how much you and the rest of the drones try to spin it.

What a hoot. Romneys own party doesn't like him. But you gotta say the the GOP on its best day can't field anyone who can beat Obama. The party is lost, bewildered. It can't govern, only say no. It is mean spirited and its followers are sheep to talk radio and fringe groups. GOP, RIP.

On Romney's record as CEO of Bain Capitol, Gingrich accuses Romney of "looting a company"

This accusation deeply sinks in peoples mind. We always hire those who are clean.

Pawlenty is speaking plenty of nonsense. How he can say the President has no record and be allowed to get away with it?

Let's see, Obama signed the Ledbetter Act into law for equal pay for women, he passed the Health Care Bill, he saved America from a GOP induced economic coma, he bailed out the auto industry and saved a million jobs or more, he killed bin Laden. Obama did all of these incredible things against GOP backing and support. This is actually very amazing, yet dumb idiots like Pawlenty are so jealous and combat ready and hardened in protecting the rich, they cannot admit one extraordinary thing the President accomplished.

Pawlenty you are a loser. Just because you give Satan head does not mean you care about the middle-class.

    Obama-Biden 2012!

Newt is the same guy who gave Willard the call sign of "Massachusetts moderate." Not to mention he called him a straight out "liar." You mean to tell me that he didn't mean any of that? Yeah right. Remember what he did to you in Florida Newt.

In case they hadn't noticed, the President IS running on his record, as he should. His campaign is also pointing out the negatives in his opponent. Last time I checked, that is how campaigns are run. The Obama campaign will not be a predominantly negative one and I suspect Romney's campaign will be much, much more negative. The GOP has a weak candidate and they know it. Of course, they will run a horribly negative campaign and then accuse the President of doing what they are doing to distract attention from their own behavior – the usual GOP false equivalency argument.

I did not realize that Little Timmy would say things that were not true. Just kidding, the GOP has nothing to run on other than their divisiveness, hatred, and fiscal incompetence.

The closest Romney will ever get to the White House is the day after Obama wins his re-election, he takes his dog out on the White House lawn for a walk and to greet the Press and stops to scoop the poop his dog makes with a newspaper with your name on the front declaring, "Obama Wins Re-election while Romney Loses bid for White House."

Best news for Timmy is Mitt might add Pawlenty to his list of potentials. They'd make quite a team: Mr. and Mrs. Fees. (As in we didn't raise taxes but we sure as hell stuck to the little people every other way we could.) Bad news is it won't matter who Mitt picks.

There is much to learn about Tim Pawlenty the potential:

As Governor, he borrowed more than $1 billion from the tobacco settlement (money set aside for heath care), borrowed more than $1.4 billion from K-12 education funding, borrowed more than $400 [million] from the Health Care Access Fund for low-income families, among other short-term shifts in accounting. The result was a $5 billion deficit, the seventh largest in the United States. Minnesota property taxes rose $2.5 billion, more than the previous 16 years combined, and Moody's lowered the state's bond rating.

All this fiscal ideology does eventually catch up with those who are now lying and cheating their way to the White House by trying to take the "distraction" route themselves.

Considering the fact that the president has been fighting a republican party that has repeatedly stated that their number one goal is to make sure that the president is a one term president at any cost, he has a sensational record. The president has almost stopped the bleeding from the gaping wound inflicted on this country by the last president. No matter what he has tried to accomplish the republicans have been there to do their very best to obstuct him. This country will be better off if we can eliminate the republican Congress if Mr. Obama is re-elected so that he can really heal the wounds inflicted by the republican party.

I'm sure Pawlenty and the entire crumbling GOP hierarchy is painfully aware of the fact that this Rethug primary season has gifted the President with enough ammunition on Romney to shoot him down over the course of THREE general elections.
You guys, Newt, The Pope, Perry, were the gifts that kept on giving, and giving, and giving to the Democrats, and the President in particular. There's a lot to be said for keeping your trap shut huh guys? But you guys couldn't wait to tell on each other! Oh well!!
    Merry early Christmas Mr. President!!

  25. The REAL Truth.. (not the imposter)

Yawn... why is it that the Grand Obstructionist Party simply cannot do anything but attack Obama??
When are they going to provide some form of platform to voters? The only thing they have offered in 3 yrs is that ACA (the plan is 99% GOP based) is unconstitutional and filed countless lawsuits that ended up in the SCOTUS, and some crazy Ryan budget. As usual, the 20% across the board tax cut (which sounds great) is unfunded – can you say HUGE $1.4T DEFICIT to pay for it – and will be a HUGE TAX BREAK for the 1% who mostly make their $$ from Cap Gains. Takes their take burden from under 15% to ZERO !! Sound like business as usual ??
So what exactly does the GOP plan to do to fix the MESS they left after 8 yrs of Dubya? And no, blaming Obama's "failed policies" does not count. I'm waiting....
