Perry: ‘God help us’ if Romney doesn’t win

(CNN) – If the voters who supported his presidential bid aren’t fired up to support Mitt Romney, the GOP had “better get a fire going,” Rick Perry said Thursday.

“God help us if he doesn’t win,” Perry said in an interview on Fox News.

The Republican Texas governor looked beyond differences that emerged on the campaign trail between himself and the former Massachusetts governor, including the financial industry bailout designed to keep “too big to fail” banks above water.

“I think he understands that too big to fail – and I’ve heard him say that on numerous occasions – is not appropriate, and that the economic models of supply and demand - they work,” Perry said.

The issue of bank bailouts made under the administration of President George W. Bush, however, may be a lasting difference between Perry and Romney. While Romney has said he opposed federal bailout of the auto industry – arguing in his “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt” op-ed that a process of managed bankruptcy would serve the company better – he said as recently as March that the financial industry bailout was a different matter.

“There was a different occurrence that happened at the end of President Bush’s term, and this was that there was a concern in the country that all of the banks were going to go out of business, that there was going to be a run on the banks,” Romney said in Arbutus, Maryland. Concerned with the stability of large banks, he said companies were prepared to pull millions of dollars from their accounts, and with that “there was a fear that the whole economic system of America would collapse.”

Perry had a different take on bailouts on Thursday. “Whether it’s Wall Street or motor companies, is bad public policy.”

When he withdrew from the presidential race after a disappointing finish in the Iowa caucuses, Perry threw his support to former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who ended his own bid this week. As the nomination appeared increasingly to be going Romney’s way, Perry made a late April announcement that he would back Romney.

But should Romney not win in November, Perry may have yet another run up his sleeve. He said in February that the 2012 debates “could be” preparation for a White House run in 2016.

Gov Perry did himself a lot of damage nationally. He will be viewed as a joke waiting to happen in future presidential races.

God help us if Rick Perry ever becomes Predident. That is indeed a scary thought! As for Romney, he needs to decide which one of him is going to run against Obama since he can't be two people at the same time!

It looks as if that village in Texas has allowed the prescriptions for their idiot's medications to run out. You know, they could call CVS and have it put on an auto refill basis so this won't keep happening.

Remember the day about 6 months ago when 3 candidates all told us that "God came down and told me to run for president". God must really be messing with their minds, is lying to them or simply doesn't exist and they are typical corporate lackeys with a pro-corporation agenda abusing Christianity in this country to get free votes. Which one?

And, this coming from a life-long Democrat.

In the 90's the GOP tried to take credit for the economic boom that occured under Clinton. They stated that it took 6 to 8 years for economic changes to take effect. Using their own criteria, Bush is still the blame for this. Of course, they keep telling us that anything bad is caused by the Dems and only good things come out of the GOP. Then this word does come from Texas, the self proclaimed center of the universe.

Something that doesn't exist is never going to help anyone. Willard is the one American should fear being in the White House, he had no problem destroying America jobs and sending them to China. He looted those employees pension funds so the American tax payer could pick up the tab. He hid money in off shore accounts. He enjoys firing people and he would not have a problem putting the nation into a depression.

God has helped us Rick, but you unfortunately like many people on the evangelical right can't see the light through the fog of your own BS. Look around Perry, people are sick and tired of being assaulted with fear and superstician. It's time you question your relationship with God Rick because he hates sanctimonious fools as well.
