According to the report, 342,000 workers dropped out of the labor force, with the labor force participation rate, now at 63.6%, at its lowest level since 1981.

Obama sure has fixed that "excessive worker problem" the USA had. His superior logic figured out the REAL problem was NOT a lack of jobs, but an excessive number of workers looking for jobs. His 2+ years of unemployment benefits and attacking businesses and forcing Obamacare on them sure cured the "excessive worker problem".

Given another four years I'm sure he can improve on this where a whooping ONE MILLION people will be employed in America and the unemployment rate will be 2% because we'll all be sitting at home waiting for a government welfare check and food stamps. Life will be soooo wonderful.

When they report how many jobs US companies add in the US, I wish they would also report how many jobs US companies added outside the US, for the same time period. I wonder what those numbers would be?

"To win, President Obama has to run the most brutal, negative, polarizing campaign in history - on every subject but the economy. He has to pit young against old, rich against poor, women against men, and try to divide the country on other issues. I don't think that's the kind of country we want to be"

Number 2: Clearly what we are seeing from Obama. Divider and Chief

In case all of you clueless libtards hadn't heard, most of Europe is believed to be in recession at this point. Since we have barely been out of one, you can epxect this to drag us down as well. It was bad enough OUR socialist President kept the economy down for 4 years, but now we will pay the price for all of the failures of the European socialists as well.

It looks as though Margaret Thatcher was correct. They DID run out of other peoples money to spend.

You would think that even republicans would prefer gaining 4.5 million jobs under Obama in three years to Bush's losing 8 million jobs in his last three years.

I wish their were Jourrnalist that exposed & talked about Bishop Romneys relationship with Bishop Hatch & the fact that they imbezzelled Millions from the US Treasury into Bains Pockets.

Why was there a comparison between Reagan and Obama? The scenarios are completely diffferent, although both had recessions that could be traced back to exuberant tax cuts for the wealthy. Reagan was able to raise taxes and stimulate economic demand through spending.

Reagan had to raise taxes because his cuts and increased defense spending created a "boom then bust" cycle, which were driving up debt at record levels. Which by the way, is exactly what George W. Bush did. His cuts created an unprecedented "boom then bust" cycle.

Europe's recession is a result of the republican plan of cutting out all spending and funding when they should have been doing the opposite. Republican economics did not work for us in our great depression, and it will not work now.

I love how lefties complain about outsourcing when the reason it's cheaper to do so is the monstrous cost of following government regulations. Cut regulations -> cheaper to hire in the US -> more jobs!

Thanks to Obama's presidency, the job numbers are dismal. Unfortunately, government handouts (in return for votes) will not reverse the trend. We need the liberal out of the White House. He's way over his head.

The Obama campaign has announced its new slogan - "Forward." Despite the fact that his change has nearly crushed hope, he arrogantly decided to double down and press forward, bitterly clinging to failed policies. Sadly, too many voters remain under the delusion that Obama is "winning the future."

People in the Asian factories earn about 70 cents a day, and I'll bet the right wingnuts think that American workers should be paid the same.

Dean – you think these numbers are dismal, you should have been here in Bush's last three years.

No, it's not. George W. Bush cut regulations, cut taxes, and followed the conservative economic playbook from 2000 to 2008. It created a "boom then bust" cycle, just like it always does. During that period we say 50,000 manufacturing plants close in the US, killing 8 million jobs.

Why did that happen? It should never have happened if they were cutting regulations, and ignoring enforcement of the ones they couldn't cut. It happened because the Bush administration created tax loopholes to make it cheaper to export manufacturing overseas. When they go overseas, they still pay taxes. But, ...........

Did you know that US corporations can deduct their foreign manufacturing taxes off of their US obligations, IN FULL?

This is the typical way in which statistics are used to provide misleading conclusions. The fact that no President has been re-elected with unemployment above 8% is not that same thing as the unemployment rate being the cause of their defeat. This is one of those statements that is only true until it isn't, like "no airplane has ever survived a bird strike by landing in the Hudson River" or "No woman has ever been elected President," or "Every African-American man who has run for President has lost." Given that the Republican candidate is incredibly weak and has no jobs plan, the most likely outcome is Obama wins.

yes and South Carolina always picked the GOP nominee UNTIL of course this year. In other words things can change and more often than not they do.

Government handouts of tax cuts to the wealthy will not reverse the trend, either. In fact, that is how we got here.

Seeing all the lazy GOP supporters post on here is really a good way to see why their tee-baggers trolls are losing so badly in the real polls. The new bumper sticker for them should be "GOP – proudly doing nothing for your country".

So their CURRENT recession is caused by another country's TALK of spending cuts??? I'm not sure how much wacky tabacky it takes to get this statement out of ol' Tired Wire but it has to be quite a bit!! OK, come clean. You're an Obama economic advisor aren't you?!!

The jobless number may be dropping (fuzzy math) but there are still 8.8 million people out of work! Drop another 3 or 4 million workers out of the equation and the government number would be 5% but there will still be 24.5 million unemployed or under-employed workers.
Good politics but bad for reality.

Their plan is to drive UP the cost of energy, impose massive regulatory burden, tax, tax and tax, penalize and demonize success, demonize evil companies that don't fall within their leftist ideological boundaries, then blame others when there are no companies and no jobs.

Yes, surely a formula for success, if your goal is to starve from unemployment and go broke. But you may take comfort in knwoing that the "playing field is level" and everybody else is experiencing the very same level of "success".

They WILL destroy this nation if allowed to be re-elected.

Wow, lots of over-the-top lies, hate and anger from our low-information mental defectives in the GOBP cult. Fakes News and hate radio must be really amping up the propaganda today! It's pretty funny to see the stuff you nutjobs write all the while claiming President Obama is "divisive" when the vast majority of that divisiveness is coming from your side. C'mon, here's a challenge for you: Provide one specific example of the President being divisive and I'll present two from your side. You'll run out of examples long before I do, trust me.
