(CNN) - President Barack Obama on Friday urged high school students to e-mail, tweet, and teach their parents to tweet a message to Congress to prevent student loan interest rates from doubling on July 1.
In his continuing push to extend the current 3.4% interest rate charged on federal student loans, Obama told students at a Virginia high school that the goal is to provide all Americans with the best possible education.

According to right wingnuts, the first $12 trillion of our national debt is OK, because it went for unnecessary unfunded wars, unfunded tax cuts, and TARP. The ;last $3.5 trillion in our debt was bad, because it was used to get people back to work. What crap!

Interest rates, what a load of manure ! Lower Interest rates will not make college more affordable. Same time next year we will see 7% hikes that will wipe out the effect of an intrest deduction.
This is just some typical liberal spin on a problem. Make the symptoms look more bearable but don't tackle the root of the issue. How about we pressure Colleges and Universities to get their houses in order and start to lower costs to where they are more affordable.

The POTUS needs Congress – yeah, remember the Grand Obstructionist Party – to actually DO something and work WITH him for the betterment of the country, not AGAINST him all the time. Good to see that President Obama is stepping up his "Get Out The Vote" campaign by reaching out to America's youth, especially those now 18, or soon to be 18.
