Federal inmate's sizable West Virginia presidential vote tally

(CNN) – An incarcerated 53-year-old man is beating President Barack Obama in eight West Virginia counties following the state's Democratic Presidential Primary Tuesday, according to the latest figures from the West Virginia secretary of state.

Keith Judd, who is currently serving a 210-month sentence at a correctional facility in Texarkana, Texas for extortion, is trailing the president 42.28% to 57.72% in the state based on the unofficial vote totals, but is leading in eight counties.

Judd only needs 15% of the vote to qualify for at least one delegate at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina this summer, according to The Charleston Gazette. His expected release date is June 24, 2013, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Obama has not had electoral success in West Virginia, a reliably red state in presidential politics. He was crushed by then-Sen. Hillary Clinton in the state's Democratic presidential primary in May 2008 by a 67% to 26% margin. And he lost the state to Sen. John McCain, the then-Republican presidential nominee, 56% to 43% in the November 2008 general election.

The Mountain State's Democratic Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and junior Sen. Joe Manchin have also recently distanced themselves from the president ahead of their 2012 elections.

In Tuesday's election, presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney received nearly 70% of the vote, according to the latest unofficial figures, while former candidate Rick Santorum garnered over 12% support and Rep. Ron Paul captured just over 11% of the vote.

Sure, you un-American teapublican conservatives want President Obama out as fast as possible so he doesn't continue succeeding in moving the country forward! If the President was failing, you people would have been satisfied but he has defied the odds and proved you racists wrong and with God's help, he has managed to clean up alot of the mess he inherited to move the countrty forward! Envy and jealousy, bigotry and racism are the saddest traits of mankind! let's face it, if the unemployment rate was to be reduced to 0.00% you racists would still hate the black man in the white house! Our President could never please you people because to you people, his success is your failure! Well, too bad, Obama/Biden 2012! Now go eat some rat dong!

Sorry to say, but this doesnt say a whole lot for the people in West Virginia. Seriously, folks? Wasting your right to vote on a criminal? (who, in my opinion, shouldnt have even been able to file for running in the election).

  7. Obama 2012 - BEND Forward America, take another 4 long years of FAILURE

The headline to this article SHOULD be "42% of West Virginia Democrats Prefer Hometown Criminal to the Criminal in the Whitehouse."

Convicted felons are a huge, huge, huge part of the Democrat party's base. Like all America-hating leftists who have won the Democrat party's presidential nomination, Obama will win at least 99.999997% of the convicted felon vote against Mitt Romney. Take that to the bank.

I thought that as an inmate you lose the right to vote while incarcerated, so how in the world could an inmate get on the ballot and receive votes if he himself cannot vote???

It's WEST Virginia folks... Do you know of any other state that basically seceded a chunk of itself just to get those counties away from them? I'm sure many states would like to do this, but this was the only one who said, sure that's a great idea... GTFA....

Uh, felons can't vote. They can only apparently be bought and paid for by super PACS for Mitt Romney as tools... come to think of it, romney will most likely win 99.99997% of the tool vote. You can take that to your off shore account.

President Obama's success is the teapublicans failure! We have to get that black man out of the white house because he's having too much success and everything he touches turns to gold! We teapublicans can't have that black man re-write the American history books and go down as the greatest POTUS ever! We have to do something, we must divide, spread our fear mongering, bigotry and racism to conquer! Darn, that black man is good! Eat your hearts out teapublicans! Obama/Biden 2012!
