(CNN) - President Barack Obama's endorsement Wednesday of same-sex marriage didn't please Bristol Palin. The daughter of former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin took to her blog Thursday to slam the president for taking political cues from his two daughters, who she suggested were watching too much television.
In an ABC News interview, Obama explained how his family helped influence his "evolution" on the issue of marriage, saying his daughters Malia and Sasha have "friends whose parents are same-sex couples."

"It wouldn't dawn on them that somehow their friends' parents would be treated differently," Obama said. "And frankly that's the kind of thing that prompts a change of perspective - not wanting to somehow explain to your child why somebody should be treated differently when it comes to the eyes of the law."
Palin, in her blog post, expressed a different view.
"While it's great to listen to your kids' ideas, there's also a time when dads simply need to be dads," wrote Palin.
She continued, "In this case, it would've been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that's not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that – as great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids' worldview."
Palin bemoaned the fact that Republican women running for office are sometimes quizzed on the role their families will play in their governing, but that Obama isn't pressed on acknowledging the impact his children make in his decision-making.
"So let me get this straight – it's a problem if my mom listened too much to my dad, but it's a heroic act if the President made a massive change in a policy position that could affect the entire nation after consulting with his teenage daughters?" Palin wondered.
The decision to back same-sex marriage was a missed opportunity for Obama, Palin wrote.
"In this case, it would've been nice if the President would've been an actual leader and helped shape their thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee," Palin wrote, referencing the popular television show about high schoolers.
Where is the father in Bristol Plains "family"? She says, "...kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids' worldview." so it looks like her child won't be doing well.
She continues, ""While it's great to listen to your kids' ideas, there's also a time when dads simply need to be dads," wrote Palin" – how much dad time will her kid's baby daddy have to do that?
Please just go away.
Some advice from her parents would have been good BEFORE she got pregnant outside of marriage. Who is Bristol Palin that you should give her this voice?
Thank you, CNN and Bristol for being the voice of controversy that no one else has the guts to say! I agree with her 100%. This isn't a right, like society is trying to make it out to be. You aren't "born this way" and it breaks my heart that people are convinced of that. I don't hate gay people at all. They're good people. Just like anorexics are good people. anyway. Thanks for posting this article :)
No surprise here, Bristol has a history of taking men on, and on, and on, just like her Bimbo Mother..
someone needs to muzzle this dog so she can go back to having babies out of wedlock. maybe she watches too much red shoe diaries.
So you hate Bristol because she has a platform to speak from and is taking advantage of it. Too bad! The President gets every break possible from the liberal press, who try and put him in a positive light. They can't make him look like a good leader because the fact of the matter is he is not.
Dear Bristol, It's about time someone changed "thousands of years" of marriage thinking. Also, My grandmother raised my mother & two aunts without a husband (who died when my mother was an infant.) She did a great job alone as they were incredible ladies & fantastic moms with solid worldviews even though they grew up in Kansas City and couldn't see Russia from their house.
I didnt know that Glenn Rice was in is daughter Bristol's life???? and so jus t what will she teach her child and how come what's his name the guy you know, where is he at.. If she know's so well the emportance of Dad's why did she rush to judgment in her life choices to choose someone that she could not make the proper marriage committment to...
poor, poor stupid little girl...with a child and no husband, talking about traditional marriage. It's a shame those Palins don't run their thoughts through their brains before opening their mouths.
@Thank you Bristol! – Well maybe the Repug can roll back time and take your rights back to the 1950's and see how you like being a slave again. Many fought for years for the rights and freedoms you have today and you can't see how these right wing bureaucrats are suppressing a minority the way they did your race in it's day. You obviously had it very easy and your mother and father fought the fight and your just a self serving spoiled brat. It's a shame you have so little regard for another minority.
This nutjob really needs to find something better to do than mouth off stupid remarks
Paul: It isn't the fact that she got pregnant that makes her opinion less than credible...it's the fact that she has no experience doing ANYTHING that makes her opinion less than credible. Her claim to fame is being the daughter of a washed up political figure, and that doesn't give you the credentials to be apolitical analyst...in fact it doesn't give you the credentials to be ANYTHING.
Of course she has a right to her opinion, and I will give it every bit of weight that the opinion of someone with absolutely no qualifications and (barely) a high school diploma deserves.
Interesting how she assumes that TV can be the only influence on someone. It tells us a lot about how she looks at life.
When did I get redirected to the "Tiger Beat" site?
A joker whose mother is the queen of joker! No wonder there're almost 900 respondents!
Look yourself in the mirror, where's you child's father? You child needs a dad! Go back to school and finish your high school diploma before you have any descent opinion about our President. You don't even qualify for being his house maid.
We had to listen to her idiot mother for th elast four years, now we have to listen to what the daughter thinks as well! We have world class universities here, brilliant minds in industry and in our military, why – for the love of God – are we concerned with the Palins?
Touting morals and bashing the President. This coming from the girl who had a baby at what age, out of wedlock, and what she claimed to be a rape because she was hammered on wine coolers? I guess that is what you have to tell Mommy and Daddy when you come up preggers at age 17. It wasn't me, it was the evil baby daddy who forced me to drink and then took advantage. Oh Bristol, does the hypocrisy have no end.
"Who cares what Bristol Palin thinks"? 858 responses and CNN leaves it as the lead story on Political Ticker...that's who cares. Liberals have so much hate. Just look at most of the comments. Get it out now, while you can. The monkey's going down.
Why are we giving Bristol the time of day? She is a reality star at best. The daughter of a short term Alaskan governor should voice her bias on her blog, but the media can find better stories to publish. Then again...
I have to get back to Romney's childhood bully story.
Oh Bristol. You are so young. What ever do you really know about the world besides having a child and not pursuing an education. Before you can be so critical, you really have to have the knowledge - but don't ask your mom.
This is one misinformed and misintentioned person, like her mother. She does not understand the simple anguage and jumps to conclusions not supported by facts. Also, who made her the authority on morlaity and the rationality? She would be better not talking about issues that she does not know about. Getting education would be far better for her than delving into these uninformed public discourses, if they are that.
This from a child who couldn't follow her own parents guidance.
Bristol Palin? Seriously? The girl who got pregnant out of wedlock just like her mother did is criticizing the POTUS? Seriously? CNN, don't you have much more serious stuff to report on, like the engagement of Angie and Brad? Bristol Palin? Seriously?
What makes Bristol qualified to talk about anything??? She is famous only because of her mother and the fact that she couldn't keep her legs closed. Anyone who cares what she thinks needs serious help.
