Bristol Palin: Too much 'Glee' in Obama decision

(CNN) - President Barack Obama's endorsement Wednesday of same-sex marriage didn't please Bristol Palin. The daughter of former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin took to her blog Thursday to slam the president for taking political cues from his two daughters, who she suggested were watching too much television.

In an ABC News interview, Obama explained how his family helped influence his "evolution" on the issue of marriage, saying his daughters Malia and Sasha have "friends whose parents are same-sex couples."

"It wouldn't dawn on them that somehow their friends' parents would be treated differently," Obama said. "And frankly that's the kind of thing that prompts a change of perspective - not wanting to somehow explain to your child why somebody should be treated differently when it comes to the eyes of the law."

Palin, in her blog post, expressed a different view.

"While it's great to listen to your kids' ideas, there's also a time when dads simply need to be dads," wrote Palin.

She continued, "In this case, it would've been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that's not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage. Or that – as great as her friends may be – we know that in general kids do better growing up in a mother/father home. Ideally, fathers help shape their kids' worldview."

Palin bemoaned the fact that Republican women running for office are sometimes quizzed on the role their families will play in their governing, but that Obama isn't pressed on acknowledging the impact his children make in his decision-making.

"So let me get this straight – it's a problem if my mom listened too much to my dad, but it's a heroic act if the President made a massive change in a policy position that could affect the entire nation after consulting with his teenage daughters?" Palin wondered.

The decision to back same-sex marriage was a missed opportunity for Obama, Palin wrote.

"In this case, it would've been nice if the President would've been an actual leader and helped shape their thoughts instead of merely reflecting what many teenagers think after one too many episodes of Glee," Palin wrote, referencing the popular television show about high schoolers.

Good thing she just stays in her dark lit room having mommy's money take care of her child who was made out of a night of sipping on too many margaritas before prom writing on blogs where her opinion means nothing

Bristol is really "The Tin Man" wishing she had a brain. Like mother, like daughter, She should have gotten Foster Frieze's phone # before she started dallying around in Wasila. More than anything she should get down on her knees, as I'm sure she has plenty of experience doing that, and thank her stars she was born this lucky. More than anything, she couldnt' qualify to get a job as maid in the Obama house cause she hasn't got the brains or intellect. Gimme a break, this joke should keep her mouth shut and try, if possible, to learn something from the President and his family.

Palin has the right to ask questions, but what is about being a Palin that draws national media attention to every word? The Palin women are obsessed with President Obama – seems very unhealthy to me. Ms.Palin has well-chronicled dislikes, and her daughter is following her path. Okay, I think we got it. I can go to a little league baseball game if I want to hear people yelling about nonsense. Seriously, I think it is time to move on.

What amazes me is that Bristol is elevated to a position of national newsworthy attention. Without question, she's an impressive young woman however, her fame is only due to her mother's political liveliness. This is not to defame either Bristol or Governor Palin nonetheless, the question remains, who are they and what is their expertise, education and experience that supports front page news stories. If this the best the conservative establishment has to offer then, its reasonable to conclude we're in big trouble as a Nation.

I don't think that the source of the Obama decision was based on Glee. This tells me what Bristol is watching. Otherwise, how would she know that? I personally don't watch the show and have a feeling that the Obama girls are not watching it either. Although I agree with her assessment that Obama should have taken time to explain that the lifestyle that their friends parents are involved in is not in accordance with Biblical tenets. To some of you who are questioning the Bible, please just pick it up and read it for yourself. It is very clear on this matter.

Typical Tea Bagger talk, It does not matter what the president says you will always have the haters out in force. By the way Bristol tell your MOM she lost!!! And we see how WELL you did with your mom's advice on marriage... STFU!

@emilee, Thanks for the ignorant post. Unless you've walked in a gay person's shoes, how would you know if they were born that way or not? What science are you privy to that so emphatically proves your point. I know that I have been gay since I was a young child, probably before I was 10 years old. As for rights, why shouldn't I have the same rights as you?

Are we now to expect editorial remarks from Bristol Palin? About politics? About real life issues? About the definition of family? How can we possibly take this seriously? I don't even know where to begin! This is beyond belief!

Lets be clear. Bristol Palin does not write her blog posts. Argue about it as you will but this is simply another channel for a political operative to engage in campaigning.

Wow, a lot comments attacking Bristol here. Yes, she was a teen who made a mistake. It seems like she learned from it and has turned her life around. Where is all of you liberals cries about the Barry going to a church that hates America? Or fundraisers by a domestic terrorist (Ayers a convicted bomber)? Or how about when he whispered to the soviet "I will have more flexibility after the election. This is my last election". Clearly he was saying that he would not be responsible to the American tax payer after the election. Obama is dangerous. Bristol Palin is a yound adult who made a mistake in her youth and learned from it.

This is great, every time another twit from the Palin family wants to critique the president, and it's always negative, CNN is right there to shine the light on the idiot. They cannot ever, ever, ever, say one thing positive about any democrat. They also seem to be able to use the "lamestream" (Sarah's term) to their advantage every time, unless they are criticized for saying something stupid, (that's fairly consistent), then they're not happy. Most of America is tired of hearing their comments, always negative.

It is just too ironic not to comment. The idiocy of the Palin legacy lives on.

Wow... I feel sorry for you, Bristol!! So... you're saying that single parents shouldnt be able to raise their children since "children do better in mother/father families"? What about your childs father? You being a single "mom" leaves your child without a father!!! Hyprocritical much!?!?! And you say that comment about not changing thousands of years of thinking of marriage??? Um, HELLO?!?!! Its freakin 2012!!!! EVERYTHING CHANGES!!! Change is good!! WHo the hell are you, or anyone to decide who someone should marry?!?! And just because two people cant marry, doesntmean they cant have children... so btw, that whole "point" was invalid, sweetheart!! Open your predjiduce little mind!!!! Or you're not going to get very far in this world!!
