
Washington (CNN) - Multiple top Democrats said Thursday the president's senior aides are deeply annoyed with Vice President Joe Biden for forcing the conversation on same-sex marriage.
One source said Biden has, in the past, counseled the president against announcing support for same-sex marriage - making the circumstances that much more frustrating. Although other sources said they have not heard Biden make that point in recent years.

FULL STORY(CNN) - President Barack Obama planned to announce his support for same-sex marriage during an appearance on ABC's "The View" next week, before comments Sunday by Vice President Joe Biden caused a timeline change, a top Democrat told CNN.
A senior administration official said the president was booked to appear on the talk show for weeks. Following Biden's comments, the campaign expected he could address the issue then. However, they ultimately decided to move up the announcement and tell ABC News Wednesday. Obama will tape the interview on Monday, according to the official.

Washington (CNN) - Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday led Justice Department tributes to former presidential adviser and Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach, who died at 90.
Holder had a personal connection to Katzenbach, remembered for facing down Alabama Gov. George Wallace at a schoolhouse door in June 1963 to desegregate the University of Alabama.

A new poll indicates the answer is no.
According to a Quinnipiac University survey released Thursday, the battle for the Buckeye State's 18 electoral votes is basically a tie right now. Forty-five percent of Ohio registered voters questioned in the poll say they are backing President Barack Obama, with 44% saying they support Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and presumptive GOP presidential nominee. Obama's one-point margin over Romney is well within the survey's sampling error.

(CNN) – President Barack Obama labeled presumptive challenger Mitt Romney's comments that took credit for the auto industry's recovery as an "Etch A Sketch moment."
"I think this is one of his Etch A Sketch moments. I don't think anybody takes that seriously," Obama said in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" that aired Thursday, referencing the now infamous language used by a top Romney adviser in March.

(CNN) – President Barack Obama's announcement that he now supports same-sex marriage came sooner than planned as a result of comments made by Vice President Joe Biden, he said in an interview broadcast Thursday.
"I had already made a decision that we were going to probably take this position before the election and before the convention," Obama told ABC's "Good Morning America," referring to the Democratic National Convention in September.
