New York (CNN) - President Barack Obama ends a busy day Monday in New York City with two fundraisers for his re-election campaign.
Five days after announcing he personally supports same-sex marriage, the president will speak to some 200 people at a fundraiser co-hosted by entertainer Ricky Martin, who announced two years ago that he is gay, and the Futuro Fund, an initiative by some Latino leaders to support Obama's re-election bid, according to a campaign official.

Some 200 people are expected to attend the late afternoon event, which is being held at the Rubin Museum of Art, with tickets starting at $5,000, according to the official.
Later the president will be the main attraction at a second fundraiser at a private residence. Some 60 people are expected to attend the dinner, which is being hosted by Tony James of the Blackstone Group, an alternative asset management and financial services company, with tickets for the event costing $35,800, according to the campaign official.
The price of the ticket is the legal limit an individual is allowed to contribute to a campaign per cycle and to a party committee per year.
The two fundraisers will bring in, at the least, a combined $3.14 million. All the money raised at two events will go to the Obama Victory Fund, which is a joint account of the Obama re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee, and several state Democratic parties.
Much of the money raised at the second fundraiser is expected to come from those who work on Wall Street, according to Democratic sources. While Obama raised large sums from the financial services industry in his 2008 election, he's had a much tougher time raising Wall Street money this time around.
The fundraisers cap a packed schedule for Obama in New York City. Early in the afternoon he gives the commencement address at Barnard College, the prestigious women's college. Both the president and the Freedom to Marry founder and president, Evan Wolfson, will receive the Medal Of Distinction at the Barnard College commencement. Freedom to Marry is a coalition pushing for support of legal same-sex marriages.
Following his speech, the president tapes an interview with ABC'S "The View," the popular daytime all-female hosted talk show. The program is schedule to air on television Tuesday. Obama won the female vote by 13 points in the 2008 presidential election, according to exit polls. His campaign is making a push to keep women voters in his camp this November, as national Democrats continue to push their narrative that paints the GOP as waging a "war on women."

All the money in the world can't change the fact that Obama has failed miserably over the last four years. The American people were paying attention in 2010 and are still engaged. In November, Obama will be sent packing back to his corrupt Chicago where he belongs. Only then can the country start truly recovering again. Our long four year nightmare will finally be over.
Look at how energized the crowd is. I can't wait either to VOTE AGAINST all republicans and put people back into government who actually want to do the will and the work of the people to get this country back to it's once greatness BEFORE W. took over. Let's give the president the help he needs and get rid of ALL the obstructionists and Norquist pledgers once and for all.
Obama is way to rich and prestigious for Romney to beat him. There is no way Romney can put together this kind of money and have such prestigious support from such a college like Barnard College. Romney and Christians cannot compete with this Medal of Distinction Obama is receiving from such a prestigious women's college. These rich, prestigious people will carry Obama to a 2nd win of the White House.
Does this guy have nothing better to do than fund raise????? I thought all democrats/liberals shunned the high roller/banker types???? MY BAD!!!
Woman In California - Look at how energized the crowd is.
Yeah, it's part of the instructions given to people at these staged events when they are lined up behind Obama. But somehow several are using their phones and one is yawning. Yes, very energized! I, mean, how many times can you cheer for the same line of BS he's been spewing for 4 years now?
So when is Obama going to hold an event with the 20 million he's kept unemployed for a record length of time?
Liberals: I may not agree with you, but we all have the right to believe whatever we want. My faith, or lack thereof, should not, and will not, infringe upon your rights.
Conservatives: My religion is the right religion. If you don't agree with me, too bad. We will make the laws in such a way that you will have to live by the rules of my religion. Because mine is right and yours is wrong.
That is the choice we have in 2012. With the GOP purging their ranks of any dissent, and with them seeing compromise as a dirty word, we have to vote against them. This is America, a land where anyone can be who they want to be, without having their rights stripped away by the majority. Only Obama will protect us all. He is our only hope for America truly being the land of the free.
WTH... a MIXED crowd? There are actually people of color standing in that crowd! Note to the GOP... it might be helpful if YOUR crowds looked a tad more diverse. Just sayin'...
@BEND – at least he's got people showing up. Mittens photo ops are seldom show with more than a handful of paid deadbeats... But that's to be expected of the the Grand Obstructionist Party of no.. no platform, no policies, definitely no candidate, no compromise and no chance in Nov.
There's more people in that photo than showed for all of Mittens photo ops.. LOL
You go Obama. That BULLY Romney needs to be put in his place.
Wait a minute! Obama was also a Bully. He pushed a little girl Coretta down to the ground according to his book Dreams from my father.. How come not one of you is upset about that????
@Myviewis...you make a great point..but because of chief justice Roberts orchestration that helps the Superpac's.. people like Carl Rove comes to Romney's rescue...so unlike any other sitting President... it creates an unfair advantage becuz of the supreme court ruling..........thank goodness this President has the support that he has... otherwise.. he has to combat the Citizen United and Crossroads
The REAL Truth... - @BEND – at least he's got people showing up.
The people supporting Romney are busy working and paying taxes in order to support many in Obama's crowd of government dependent supporters.
I can't wait until June/July......When the Supreme Court justices rule against Obamacare and rule that Arizona has every right to enforce the federal immigration laws in their state!! It's coming very soon!!
Women in California, so how many in that crowd are of voting age???? Keep voting for democrats like Gov.Brown and pretty soon you may have to move out of Cali, because there isn't any money left for social programs.
Why aren't Ron Paul's campaign stops shown? Because it is embarrassing to both Romney AND Obama when 5000-10000 people show up to hear Dr paul speak! The news blackout continues!
The Real Truth, oh you have not seen the pictures where half the place was empty when Pres.Obama held a election speech. Wonder how many where at this speech, but the media got good at not showing empty seats.
I still don't understand as to why Obama was a bully with Coretta "Dreams from My Father" and everyone is ignoring it when we are making sure that Bullying in schools is not tolerated and pushing Coretta down to the ground qualifies as Bullying and it is a serious matter just like the one with Romney. Both Romney and Obama behaved like bullies and neither should be ignored. What kind of an example is this setting for kids going through bullying in schools when the president won't come clean on his own wrong behaviour and allows only Romney to be persecuted for it?
Lizzie - Keep voting for democrats like Gov.Brown and pretty soon you may have to move out of Cali, because there isn't any money left for social programs
No, no, no. It's not a spending problem! If they raise the state income tax to 20% and the sales tax to 15% then it can all be paid for. See how EASY it is to have agreat social welfare state? All it takes is.... most of your income.
